From the Election Committee
Each year in May, CCA holds an election for our Board of Directors. There are 3 open positions. This year, CCA received applications for 3 qualified candidates for each of those open positions. As per Article III, Section 1 of the CCA Bylaws, no election will be held this May as the number of candidates running for election is less than (or equal to) the number of open positions. Therefore, please join the Election Committee in congratulating and welcoming our three newest Board members; Courtney Brown, Nitin Deshpande, and Kathy Underhill. A sincere thank you to each of you for your willingness and commitment to serve on the CCA Board of Directors.

John Irwin Excellence Award
On Monday, April 10, 2023 we were invited to the CCSD Board meeting to receive the
John Irwin Award for Cherry Creek Academy. This award is given to schools that demonstrate exceptional academic achievement over time. This award indicates that Cherry Creek Academy received an Exceeds Expectations Rating on the Academic Achievement indicator of the School Performance Frameworks reflecting exceptional performance in Math, English Language Arts, and Science.
The John Irwin Excellence Award is named for a true friend and visionary of education, former Colorado State Representative, John J. Irwin. We appreciate and value our continued and ongoing partnership with the CCSD team and thank the Board of Education and Superintendent, Chris Smith, for honoring our school!

ALITA Projects Need Your Help!
Our ALITA students are preparing independent projects about the following self-selected topics:
For their research, it would be great to tap into expertise within our own community. If you work in the field of a student's topic, or have knowledge of it, would you consider corresponding with a student about it via email? If so, please email Mr. Geltman at sgeltman@cherrycreekacademy.org, and Mr. Geltman will coordinate things.
