Let's Divide and Multiply Decimals!
Everyone should Divide and Multiply decimals. It makes life so much easier. It can help you when you are dealing with money. Like you if you have to multiply one number and a number,or divide a number from another. So let's all Multiply and Divide decimals!
How to Multiply Decimals: Step 1
First you take 2 numbers with decimals in them and put them on top on each other. In this case start out with multiplying 2x3. You should get 6. You put the 6 under the 2 under the line. Then multiply 3x2. You should get 6. Put the 6 in front on the other 6 under the line.
How to Multiply Decimals: Step 2
Then you go under the first 6 you wrote and put a zero under it. Then you multiply 4x3. You should get 12, and you put the 2 in the 12 next to the second 6 and carry the one up next to the first 3 in 3.3. Then you multiply the 3 and 4 that are obove each other. You get 12 but you add the remainder one from the previous 1 from the first 12. So you get 13 and you write that after the 2 you put down
How to Multiply Decimals: Step 3
Then you add 66+1320. You should then get 1386. Now you have to place your decimal. So you take bothe the numbers you started out with in this case it was 3.3 and 4.2. So with both those numbers you count haw many numbers were to the right of the decimal. There was 2 with these two numbers.(.3 and .2) So you take you number and start from the very end on the right side. Count over 2 numbers and that is where you put your decimal. Your answer to this problem is 13.86. That is how you multiply decimals.
How to Divide Decimals: Step 1
Since 4 can go into 6 1 time you write a 1 at the top. Then scince 1x4 equals 4 you write a 4 under the 6. Next you take 4 away from 6 and you get 2.
How to Divide Decimals: Step 2
Next after the 6 is .4 you add a decimal point after the one on the top.
How to Divide Decimals: Step 3
Next you bring the 4 down and 4 goes into 24 6 times and you put 6 at the top. Then where ever the decimal is in the number 6.4 you bring it up above the line where the answer is. You place the decimal there and you should get 1.6. That is how you divide decimals.
So now you know how to multiply and divide decimals and how easy it is. Multiplying and Dividing decimals can help you anywhere you go! So let's all multiply and divide decimals
