The Odyssey
December 2, 2022
From the Principal
MQSCA Families-
I am going to remind all parents again, our school parking lot has a 5mph speed limit. Please do not speed through our parking lot. In addition, in the morning especially, we see a lot of cars speeding through the lot to come into the drop off line. In addition, cars are not coming in the correct entrances. I again want to remind all parents, that our number one priority to to maintain a safe atmosphere for all students, and parents. Patience is key to making our drop off successful.
Lastly, parents who wish to exit your vehicle to help your child out of the car, should go in the designated parking space, please do not come through the "express" drop of line. I would also like to ask for patience in this area, some of our smallest friends are very independent, and can get out of the car by themselves, but it takes a little longer. Please be patient with them as well!
On Thursday December 8th, we will be having a mass for the Immaculate Conception at 9:00am. We will still have our normal mass on Tuesday.
We have updated our calendar, please see it linked below with the changes.
Report cards went home on Wednesday for students 1st-8th grade. Please make sure to sign the envelope and return it to the school.
In Christ-
Mr. Lee

Safe Enviroment Training
In order to be involved in any school activities, including chaperoning a field trip, coaching a sport, or volunteering in a classroom, you have to be safe environment trained. Below is the link to register for a training. No exceptions will be made, it is an archdiocesan mandate. If you plan to volunteer now, or in the future in any way, you MUST have attended a safe environment training. Please reach out to Bryanna Hill if you have questions about safe environment training, if you need to be trained, or if a new background check needs to be conducted. If you think you have been in safe environment training in the past, but are unsure, please double check.
Volunteers Needed
Here is the volunteer form. Please take a moment to fill it out if you have not yet. We still have many spaces available to help volunteer at different event in our school through out the year.
I have some community members that have already showed interest in supporting the school for a beer and wine tasting fundraising effort. We have an opportunity to make this one night be an opportunity to raise money for our school for a playground and much needed fencing. Please consider volunteering for this event so we can start the planning process.
Safety in the Parking Lot for drop off and pick up
Please make sure that you follow the MQSCA parking lot rules. We have a 5 mph speed limit in the parking lot.
Here are a couple of things to consider:
- You never know when a child will step out from a car, and our littlest friends often are hid by the car.
- Your time is not more valuable than anyone else's and we all run late, however that cannot be a reason to speed through the parking lot.
- Please follow the morning drop off and afternoon pick up procedures.
- Park in a designated parking spot when picking up. Lining up in the aisles, or along building blocking traffic flow and preventing cars to exit in a timely fashion.
