We have had an AMAZING first 2 days back!
This week, we committed that EVERY CHILD will make a years growth in reading and math according to MAP testing. While I know this is a tall order, I also know that we "dream big or go home." There is a saying, "Shoot for the moon, even if you miss you'll land among the stars."
These are the things we have committed to doing so that we can meet this goal:
-We will put down distractions!
-Be prepared every day!-
-Ask for help and give help when needed…know your strengths
-Be open and honest about your data-
-Hands on, minds on
-Every child and staff welcomed and dismissed in a positive way-know your children
-Start every day with a clean slate
-SOAR EVERY DAY
-Get to know your colleagues
-Share information/strategies about children in positive ways
-ELA AND MATH Workshop with Fidelity every day
-Share your students
Take a look below at some highlights from these two days!
Stacy Bailey's Great Niece
This is my great niece, Layla Gibbons. She weighed 6lb. 12 oz. and was born on August 2.
She's my little sunshine and I'm in love! She's our first great grand as well.
Mentor Permission
Spanish Speaking Families Registration Event
Meet the Teacher Night
Please make sure you have addressed the following with EVERY CHILD...
- Do I know how this student will get home from school? Does the parent understand that if the student goes home a different way than the way I am being told, we MUST have it in writing?
- If the student is a walker, have I explained the new walker safety policy? Has the parent signed the walker safety agreement? (This will be explained Wednesday)
- Has this family completed online registration? If not, they should go to the library to do so before leaving tonight.
- Did I get a mentor permission slip in my box for this student, if so, has the family signed it?
- Please remind parents that August 21 is a half day due to the eclipse.
