Why Martin Luther King Jr. was Famous
Martin Luther King, Jr. was born on January 15, 1929 and died on April 4, 1968. His name was Michael Luther King, Jr. but later had his name changed to Martin. In his childhood he had one sister named Willie Christine and a younger brother named Alfred Daniel. Meanwhile Martin became a pastor with his father to help people out when they are not feeling well or in the hospital helping the people out with there problems. Everybody cared for Martin, they prayed with him, they listened to his speeches, and all you could hope for in that man.
Martin had good leadership with everybody. When people fought he would go up to them and say “don’t fight talk about it, do it in a kind way. just because somebody hurt you doesn't mean you do it back. Martin Luther King Jr. grew up to be just like his father. Later on, at the age of thirty-five, Martin Luther King, Jr., was the youngest man to have received the Nobel Peace Prize. When notified of his selection, he announced that he would turn it in for the prize money for $54,123 to the furtherance of the civil rights movement.
After a while Martin gave a speech.“I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal. I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today” - Martin Luther King, Jr.”
When Martin passed away his gravestone said exactly what he wanted to happen and this is what it said “Free At Last,Free At Last,Thank God Almighty I’m Free At Last.’’ When Martin past away he had a parade in everybody came to see him float down the river.
