Welcome to Millbridge, Members of the Class of 2034
We are very excited to welcome you and your child to the Millbridge School family. The talented, dedicated staff of teachers and support personnel at our school will work to ensure that your child’s first year of school is an amazing one.
We will be holding two orientation sessions. Each kindergarten student should be accompanied by ONE parent or guardian. Siblings are not permitted to attend.

Session 2 is for the following classes: Mrs. McCabe, Mrs. Coleman & Ms. Morris, Ms. Pharazyn, Ms. Scattergood & Mrs. Intelisano, Mrs. Howe and Mrs. McHugh.
10:30 - 10:45- Arrival. Please meet us in the cafeteria. Look for your teacher's balloon color, which will be posted on the screen.
10:45 - 11:45- Orientation session in the cafeteria for parents. Students will be taken down to the classrooms for an activity with the teacher.
During the orientation, you will be introduced to our kindergarten teachers and other pertinent support staff members. A short visit to your child’s classroom to meet his or her individual teacher will take place after a general information session which will be held in the cafeteria. Dismissal will take place from the classrooms. The general session will include presentations by our school nurses, Ms. Karen Dellaratta and Mrs. Michelle Sondeen, and our counselors, Ms. Crawford and Mr. Abdullah.
A school bus will be parked in the parking lot between 8:30 and 12:15. We invite you to take your child onto the bus and have them practice buckling and unbuckling their seatbelt either before or after your session.
Please be aware that you and your child MUST wear a mask in order to enter the building unless a medical exemption has been granted through the Superintendent's office.
September 8, 2021- 1:00 Dismissal
Please be sure that your child wears the Tyvek band that was mailed home. This will help us get your child to their classroom.
Kindergarten students ONLY will be dismissed at 1:00. Please make the necessary arrangements for your child’s after-school care.
All kindergartners are asked to bring a large snack. Students attending Primetime are encouraged to bring a snack and lunch. Please refer to our peanut-free snack list for acceptable snacks.
The YMCA Primetime program will start at 1:00 pm for kindergarten students enrolled in the program.
Students will eat their snacks in the cafeteria on the first day to help them begin to learn the cafeteria procedures. This will enable them to eat familiar foods from home and practice lunchroom skills.
Our school hours are 9:00 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. daily. Students cannot arrive before 8:50 a.m., as there is no supervision until that time.
Millbridge staff will begin to unload the buses and help students in the carpool lane. Only Millbridge staff members are permitted in the bus loop during arrival.
The drop-off for carpool students is located by the cafeteria in the small circular loop. A Millbridge staff member will be there each morning to greet your child by opening the car door. Please have your child behind the driver seat as this makes it easier for the staff member to let the children out in a timely fashion. As the traffic gets very congested, we ask that parents use Hartford Road to turn onto Conrow. When exiting the parking lot, all vehicles MUST turn left toward Haines Mill Road.
If you will be walking your child to school, please use the sidewalk closest to the street. Millbridge staff who are on duty will meet your child so they can enter school. Only staff and students are permitted on the sidewalks in front of the school during arrival and dismissal. We know the first day of school is a memory that parents like to hold near and dear with pictures. We encourage pictures to be taken at home to allow a smooth transition for arrival.
Students must be dropped off by 9:00 a.m. After that time, you will have to bring your child to the front office to be signed in.
If your child will be riding the bus, you can access information about their bus in Parent Portal. Login information was mailed out a few weeks ago. Please direct any busing questions to our transportation coordinator at sjankowski@delranschools.org.
The Burlington County YMCA operates a before and after-school childcare program. For information, rates, or to register your child for this program, please visit their website.
Walkers and carpool students are dismissed through the cafeteria doors starting at 3:20. All students must be picked up no later than 3:35. More details about this procedure will be shared at orientation.
Thinking About Lunch
The children have 20 minutes to eat their lunch and 20 minutes for recess. Sometimes at the beginning of the school year, it is difficult for children to eat in the 20-minute time frame. For this reason, please consider the following: parents may have a tendency to pack more items than a small child can eat. If you select items that are sealed in packets, such as boxes of raisins, granola bars, or small packs of cookies, you can ask your child to bring these things home if they are not eaten during lunch. It is amazing how many children throw out unopened items from a lunch box! Due to time constraints, kindergarten students will not be able to purchase snacks until January 2, 2022.
This year, school breakfast and lunch will be available free of charge to all students. It is extremely important; however, that parents and guardians still complete the application for free and reduced lunch if eligible. This impacts a number of other things that your children and your family may be eligible to receive. These applications will be sent home on the first day of school and only one application per family should be submitted.
Lost and Found
Each year, we have countless items ranging from winter coats to backpacks that are lost. We strongly encourage parents to LABEL EVERYTHING with your child’s name, teacher and bus letter. Lost and found items are kept in the gym and put out periodically throughout the year.
