Romans, just like the Greeks, believed in many gods and goddesses. However, there were twelve gods called “Dii Consentes” that were especially honored. The group included Jupiter, Juno, Pluto, Neptune, Venus, Mars, Apollo, Vulcan, Minerva, Ceres, Diana, Venus, and Mercury. There were also many more minor gods. The Greeks have many stories around the adventures of Zeus, Apollo, Aphrodite, and Ares, among others, The Greeks are much more concerned with physical life on earth as opposed to the afterlife. In contradiction, the Romans did good deeds to secure their place in Heaven.
