This week's Texas Influenza Surveillance Report rates the intensity of influenza-like illness statewide as 'very high'. It's not too late to consider a flu shot for this season! Although 'flu' is not the only bug in town, most are susceptible to the basics—effective handwashing, covering coughs/sneezes and isolation of ill individuals. Working together on these three will help minimize spread at school.

Just a reminder: when your child is ill or injured at school, they want YOU.

  • Please be sure your contact information is up to date (changes can be emailed to the Front Office staff).
  • Enter the clinic phone number (281-298-4711) in your contacts so our call will be recognized.
  • Please make a back-up plan for pick-up for times when you are unavailable.
  • Ill students should be picked up within 30 minutes so we can continue to provide care for others.
  • Children should remain at home until they are fully recovered.

Listed below are two separate links for parents to sign up to have lunch with their children. The first link is for November 7th through November 18th, and the second link is for November 28th through December 15th.

We are only allowing one parent, per child for each sign up. Due to limited space, we will only be able to allow one parent per day, per student, for a total of 8 per grade level.

Just a few reminders:

  • One parent, per child during each sign up period
  • Parents, please bring your own lunch -- Your child can still purchase from the cafeteria
  • You may bring an outside lunch for your child, but just remind him/her not to order from the cafeteria
  • Bring your driver's license for check-in
  • Please check out at the front desk when you leave

Please use the Sign-Up Genius Links below.

On Friday, November 11th, second grade sponsored our Monthly Staff Appreciation luncheon from Bellagreen. Second grade families can still help support us in an effort to financially make this happen. Each lunch cost approximately $12 and we fed between 60-65 staff members.

Would you please consider making a donation through Membership Toolkit?

The David staff works so hard and would greatly appreciate this kind gesture. Payments can be made through the Membership Toolkit store under Grade Level Sponsored Luncheon.

There are several ways your family can support David Elementary. Participating in the programs below takes very little time and effort, but makes a real difference for our school. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

  • Box Tops for Education
  • Kroger's Community Rewards
  • Amazon Smile
  • 1 to 1 Printers
