FISD Early Childhood School
Where the Adventure Begins...
Happy Holidays to You and Yours!
Many of you were able to come to our class parties today. We hope you enjoyed your time with us. We loved having all of you!
Hopefully you were able to join us this past Tuesday as well for our annual Multicultural Night. We had so many families who set up tables to share about their cultures. The fashion show was just amazing. The traditional attire everyone wore was just stunning! It's always one of our favorite nights of the year!
As we go into our holiday break, I just want to wish all of you a happy holiday and a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We will see all of the students back on Wednesday, January 3rd!

We Want You!
We are hoping to have some parents volunteer about 20 minutes of their time to help us at our two arrival times each day. Having the extra hands to open doors and helps students out of the cars would definitely speed up our carpool lanes!
If you would consider helping us out, just click this link. It will take you to a Google Form with all the details and you can submit your interest. Thank you for considering!
School Report Card
Below you will find a copy of the State of Texas 2016–17 School Report Card for our Early Childhood School. This is a report required by the Texas Legislature and prepared by the Texas Education Agency. It is to be sent to the parent or guardian of every child enrolled in a Texas public school. The report provides information concerning student performance on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®), as well as information on student enrollment, class size averages, and financial expenditures.
The report for our school may or may not have all the information because the information presented depends on whether the school is an elementary, middle, or high school.
State law requires that the school report card display information about the state, the district, and the school. Where possible, the information must be reported by race/ethnicity and socioeconomic status of the students and must include at least two years of results.
The School Report Cards can be found online at https://rptsvr1.tea.texas.gov/perfreport/src/20176/campus.srch.html
A more complete report about Early Childhood School, the Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR), is available online at: https://rptsvr1.tea.texas.gov/perfreport/tapr/index.html
I Want to Hear From You!!
Many of you have posted comments, suggestions or questions on my Parent Padlet. Thank you! It is one of the ways for me to stay connected with you and allows other parents to see your questions. You never know when someone else is wondering the same thing. The cool thing is that it is completely anonymous! So post away and I will be sure to respond.

Many of us spend our “spare” time chauffeuring our children from school to extracurricular activities and family engagements. When the holidays roll around things do not slow down, and we can easily fall into a busier schedule trying to fit in as much “fun and holiday cheer” as possible. However, over planning can add stress.
The consequences to stress around the holidays can be over indulging in food and drink. These are not healthy habits we want to model for our children. There are other options that can make holiday stress more manageable.
The American Psychological Association recommends the following:
- Make time to reconnect with friends and family who offer support and positivity
- Discuss the various holiday traditions in your community to educate your children about other cultures and religions
- Set a budget for holiday spending.
- Make a ‘to do’ list and then decide which can be eliminated or postponed for after the holidays.
- Practice self-care like exercise, spending time outside, and enjoying a fun hobby
