MESSAGE FROM THE TISON PRINCIPAL
Dear Tison Families,
Thanks for a great start to the school year! With construction ongoing, we appreciate your patience as we have all adjusted to the new traffic patterns. You will continue to see construction crews on our campus until the end of December while the new addition is completed. Please know that all workers have passed background screenings and their work is being carefully scheduled to limit interruptions to the learning environment.
Our secured entrance is installed and now routes all visitors through the main office, and we are excited about the added security that this affords our students. In order to maintain as much safety as possible, if you are dropping off items for your student at any point during the day (including during lunches), please park in the parking lot and bring those items into the main office. We cannot allow students to come to your car to retrieve those items during the day.
In athletics news…because our football field is not yet complete, we have updated our football schedule to relocate some games to Roo Stadium on Mondays. Please see the updated schedule below.
I hope everyone enjoys the long weekend! Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need anything!
In an effort to keep you updated on any school announcements, please join my Tison Principal Remind 101 group. You can join by using the following link:

MESSAGE FROM THE COUNSELOR:
SUICIDE PREVENTION WEEK 2016 -- SEPTEMBER 5-9
This week is National Suicide Prevention Week. One young person dies from suicide approximately every hour and forty-five minutes, or 100 young adults every week. It is the number one cause of death due to preventable causes. And it is a silent killer since no one wants to let an adult know or get help. However, it is entirely preventable if we share with each other and our friends so each individual is reached.

TISON ROO IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Eveelyn Rodriguez, 8th grader
Mr. Craft, Tison Assistant Principal, nominated Evelyn to be a "Tison Roo in the Spotlight":
"Evelyn is just so quick to help out and is super friendly - just a super positive role model for Tison! Recently, there was a 7th grader who was having trouble opening a locker. Evelyn noticed the struggle and came over with a great smile on her face and told the student, "Don't worry...I got this!" She opened the locker and then preceded to show the student how to open it. I don't know if Evelyn personally knew this student, but it didn't matter...she just wanted to help!"
In order to get to know Evelyn a little better, she completed a simple survey and below are her answers:
