DETERMINING CLOSE CONTACTS ON THE SCHOOL BUS & BUS SAFETY
As we started this school year and put in place important safety measures, we determined that all students who ride the bus would be required to sit in an assigned seat. This change was purposeful to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and so that we could conduct efficient contact tracing when positive cases arise. When we conduct COVID-19 contract tracing, we rely heavily on those assigned seats to correctly pinpoint who would be a close contact. Lately, some of our contact tracing investigations have been hindered by students not sitting in their assigned seats on the bus.
We are asking for your help in making sure your student understands the importance and reason for the assigned seats on the bus.
Please check with your child to see if he/she knows what his/her assigned seat is on the bus.
Talk with your child about always taking that seat and the reason why.
If your child has forgotten which seat his/she rides contact the school office and that information will be provided.
If your child has different routes, consider including a notecard in his/her backpack with that information so they can refer to it when needed.
All bus drivers have a seating chart and can be helpful in directing students to the correct seat if needed. If a student does not remain in their assigned seat, he/she will receive a bus conduct violation. Repeated failure to follow bus rules will result in a bus suspension or exclusion from bus transportation.
Safety is our first priority, so please remind your child of the importance of this bus rule and all other bus rules. FirstStudent has supplied these helpful guides as resources: School Bus Safety Tips | Start Safe Guide | Top 6 Safety Tips for Kids
PLEASE WASH & ROTATE MASKS
Our students and staff are doing a great job wearing their masks each day! As we get into normal routines during the school year, one routine we would like to highly encourage is mask washing. We are seeing some students coming to school with masks that have not been washed in a few days. Please consider having your student rotate masks throughout the week and start each day with a clean, fresh mask. Mask effectiveness is best with a clean, dry mask each day.

LOST AND FOUND
CLICK HERE to see pictures of the items in our lost and found. This year we will be purging lost and found items more often so it’s important for children to keep close tabs on their belongings. It is also suggested that if possible, student items be labeled with the first and last name on it so that we can get it back to the student if it becomes lost. Any items that are not collected by October 30th will be donated
