The Holocaust

When Adolf Hitler rose to power, he lead the German army in the Holocaust; the murder of 6 million Jews by the Nazi's beginning in 1933. The Germans thought that they were superior to the Jews who they considered to be below them. Because of these motives, they captured the Jews and put them all in concentration camps. Proceeding to kill them all either in gas chambers, shootings, and beatings then resulting to the burning of their bodies. By: Abbi Watters

Sudan

The genocide was the mass murder a Darfuri men the the rape of the woman and children who were Darfuri. 480,000 people were killed and 2.8 million were displaced. It was between the Janoweeds and Darfuri men, woman, and children. The Janoweeds wanted the Recourses that the civilians had and also they wanted to make a point to get more followers of their liberation movement.

Civil Wars

World War II

World War 2 was a global war considered to have lasted from 1939-1945. Allies were formed among the armies of the world and enemies were made. The war began in Europe when the German army invaded Poland. Throughout the years, many attacks happened. From the ally of Germany, Italy, invading Britain and North Africa; to when Germany decided to attack the Soviet Union eventually forcing them to retreat. Also many events took place like Pearl Harbor and The Normandy Invasion. The war ended when Japan formally surrendered following The Treaty of Peace with Japan signing in 1945. By: Abbi Watters

Spanish American war

Opium War

Also known as the Anglo-Chinese war, it was a rebellion basically. It took place in the mid 19th century. China stopped had limits on imports from Britain. The people were mad anddidn't like it so they rebelled. The country of Britten had been illegally exporting opium to the county of china and china got mad. They confiscated all opium and caused bad social and economic problem. Two british sailors were drunk and killed a Chinese man. China arrested the men and Britten became mad and sent in troops to get them back. It was between China and Britten in the first one and the second was the same thing but France joined in and fought China too. It made China have bad relations with France and Britten. The Cold War

After World War II, the tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union never faded and caused the Cold War. The war lasted from 1947-1991. It was "cold" because there was no large-scale fighting or gun use directly towards the other. The USSR and the US were left to be two superpowers with many differences towards one another. Conflicts and arguments caused the problem to arise causing the aftermath of World War II to be the Cold War. Terrorism

:the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims.

9/11 Twin Towers Attack

On September 11, 2001, 19 men involved in the Islamic extremist group Al-Qaeda hijacked four American airlines. They proceeded to fly two of the planes into the World Trade Center in New York City. The third plane hit the pentagon that is located just outside of Washington, D.C. Finally the fourth plane crashed into an open field in Pennsylvania. Throughout all the attacks over 3,000 passengers, passing pedestrians, and all around victims were killed. Along with them, more than 400 police officers and firefighters were also killed. The attacks resulted in triggering the U.S. initiatives to combat terrorism and questioning about the presidency of George W. Bush arose intensively. Since then the U.S. locked down on security and is more aware of outsiders and protecting their country. By: Abbi Watters

Massacre of Sri Lankan police officers

Oklahoma City Bombing

It was a domestic terrorist attack on a federal building in Oaklamohoma City. It killed 168 people and injured 680 people. 280 surrounding buiding were dammaged. It was a huge explosion and was the worst terrorost attack untill September 11, 2001. It was a very bad attack. He said it was revenge for what the US government did to ruby at waco to Ruby Ridge. He was trying to take out the government building to get even. He was crazy in my opinion. He did make his point however to get even. He was so crazy. It caused america to crack down on terrorism but did not have a good effect because 5 years later September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks happened. By: Clayton Johnson
