:the deliberate killing of a large group of people, esp. those of a particular ethnic group or nation.
When Adolf Hitler rose to power, he lead the German army in the Holocaust; the murder of 6 million Jews by the Nazi's beginning in 1933. The Germans thought that they were superior to the Jews who they considered to be below them. Because of these motives, they captured the Jews and put them all in concentration camps. Proceeding to kill them all either in gas chambers, shootings, and beatings then resulting to the burning of their bodies. By: Abbi Watters
World War II
Spanish American war
Also known as the Anglo-Chinese war, it was a rebellion basically. It took place in the mid 19th century. China stopped had limits on imports from Britain. The people were mad anddidn't like it so they rebelled. The country of Britten had been illegally exporting opium to the county of china and china got mad. They confiscated all opium and caused bad social and economic problem. Two british sailors were drunk and killed a Chinese man. China arrested the men and Britten became mad and sent in troops to get them back. It was between China and Britten in the first one and the second was the same thing but France joined in and fought China too. It made China have bad relations with France and Britten. The Cold War
After World War II, the tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union never faded and caused the Cold War. The war lasted from 1947-1991. It was "cold" because there was no large-scale fighting or gun use directly towards the other. The USSR and the US were left to be two superpowers with many differences towards one another. Conflicts and arguments caused the problem to arise causing the aftermath of World War II to be the Cold War.
