LIS Tiger Talk

August 19, 2022

Principal's Update

Tiger Families,

The start to a new school year can stir up so many emotions for students and families. The realization that our students are growing up too fast. The excitement of seeing friends and meeting new ones. Meeting new teachers, learning a new campus, and exploring new opportunities. It is my sincere hope that each of your students had a positive start to their school year.

Our office team has been out and about meeting students in the lunchroom, recess, hallway transitions, arrival and dismissal. We are making our rounds to each team to do Tiger Up Talks with all students to discuss our LIS Core Values: Respect, Responsibility and Care.

Please reach out to our staff if you have any questions.

Hope to see some of you at Youth Football Night tonight. I'll be in the dunking booth from 7:00-7:20. Enjoy your weekend and Go Tigers!

Meet Our New Staff Members

Sarah Browning

Hi LIS families! My name is Sarah Browning and I am teaching 5th grade ELA and SS. This will be my 7th year teaching. I graduated with my undergraduate degree from Muskingum University where I was a softball college athlete. This past spring I graduated with my Master’s degree from Miami University. In my free time I enjoy traveling, spending time outside hiking, reading a good book, watching movies and spending time with friends and family. I am so excited to get to meet the members of this community and be a part of the Loveland family! Go Tigers!

Christy Occhipinti

My name is Christy Occhipinti. I am a new paraprofessional at Loveland Intermediate School. I am a proud mom of four Loveland Tigers students and two golden doodles. I’ve had the fortune to experience living in some of the most beautiful parts of our country. I am excited to work here and to be able to share some of those experiences with my students and fellow staff. I look forward to a wonderful year!

Nick Conner

Mr. Conner is in his 4th year of teaching and is thrilled to be joining Loveland Intermediate School. He grew up in West Chester and graduated from Ohio University. Mr. Conner loves to golf and go on hikes with his wife and dog.

Haley Jones

This is my 1st year teaching at Loveland Intermediate School and my 2nd year being an educator! I graduated from Miami University receiving my Mild/Moderate - Moderate/Intensive certificate for special education. I grew up in Toledo, Ohio so I spend most of my free time exploring the city! I am very passionate about special education and am very excited to be working with your students!

Courtney Barnes

My name is Courtney Barnes and I recently graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Early Childhood Education. As a Loveland High School Alumni, this is a very exciting opportunity for me to be able to teach 5th grade ELA and Social Studies! I have a niece attending fifth grade at LIS, my sister is the LHS Freshman cheer coach, as well as my dad and my aunt working for transportation within the district. Loveland has always been so dear to me and my family, and I can’t wait to dive in and work with all of the experienced teachers!

Annie Foy

My name is Annie Foy, and this is my first year teaching! I just graduated from the University of Cincinnati, this past April. I am so excited to be starting my career as an Intervention Specialist, at Loveland Intermediate School. My passion for this field started at a young age. My older brother, Joe, has Autism. Getting to watch the way his teachers fought for him all throughout his educational career, really sparked my passion. That passion has only grown through the incredible experiences I've had, such as Stepping Stones. I can't think of a better place to be for my first year as a teacher. Go Tigers!

Mary Megois

Mary joins LMS and LIS as the new receptionist and will be greeting students and visitors at our main entrance each day. Mary and her husband have five sons and enjoy spending time at their cabin in Tennesse where they love to hike. In her spare time, Mary also enjoys baking.

We welcome Mary to the LIS/LMS campus!
