Laurie Halse Anderson
Laurie Halse Anderson is the author of Speak. After writing Speak, she won the Printz Honor Book Award, a National Book Award nomination, Golden Kite award, the Edgar Allan Poe Award, and the Los Angeles Times Book Prize. She has written more young adult books, historical novels and many childrens books. In 2009, she recieved the Margaret A. Edwards Award and was praised for her "significant and lasting contribution to young adult literature."
