Curriculum Night Thursday

Join us Thursday evening for Curriculum Night where we will share information about 4th grade in general and what you can expect this year. Mr. Avirett and Ms. Torres will be presenting together at 5:30 and 6:15. We look forward to seeing you there!!

If you are unable to attend, the information shared will be posted on Ms. Torres' website Friday.

Students are encouraged to bring water bottles to use throughout the day. Your child may bring a snack (or two) to eat during our working snack time.

Our Learning Targets

Math: We can multiply using arrays, area models, number lines.

Science: We can measure, compare, and contrast physical properties of matter, including size, mass, volume, and states (solid, liquid, gas)

Reading: We can identify the sequence of a narrative story in order to build an effective summary.

Writing: We can generate topics for writing through a range of strategies. We can edit for complete sentences by identifying a complete subject and predicate.

Social Studies: We can use geography tools to collect, analyze, and interpret data relating to Texas' place in the world.

This week we will begin the district-adopted Second Step program. You can find information in the Family Letter (English and Spanish). This information will also be located on Ms. Torres' website under the Second Step tab.
