Welcome!
From the District Administrator's Office
We Are On A Mission
Over the last several months our school board has been holding work sessions with the intent of building a stronger school district. One of the tasks we identified we need to establish is a school district Strategic Roadmap.
You may be wondering what a Strategic Roadmap is. As the name implies, it is a plan of where we want to go, what we want to accomplish, and what values we follow and instill as a school district. There are four major components of a strategic roadmap. They are:
· Our Mission Statement
· Our Core Values
· Our Vision Statement
· Our Strategic Directions
Our Mission Statement represents commitment, promise and focus of our school district. It is used to guide our daily decisions. The Mission Statement is our purpose that drives us.
Our Core Values are intended to influence us and provide guidance for what we should stand for. Some examples of core values include accountability, respect, responsibility, and integrity.
The Vision Statement is a statement of what we want to accomplish in the next three to four years. It is our “vision” of where we want to go.
Strategic Directions define our focus of how we get to where we want to go.
Once we have our Strategic Roadmap in place, we will use it to guide all of our decisions within the school district. Everyone will have a clear understanding of what we value, what we stand for, and how we plan to go about achieving our vision.
This is not just the school’s Strategic Roadmap, however. Our school is a significant part of our communities. We need your involvement to develop a Roadmap that represents us all. We are going to be conducting listening sessions over the next month to gather input from community members. We value your thoughts and ideas. As we set exact times and locations for the listening sessions, we will share those so we can get your input.

From the Principal's Office
What an exciting week for our elementary students participating in the "Camping" theme Reading Week! It was wonderful to see students earning points for their classroom each day for dress up days and solving daily rhymes. As I walked through classrooms, I was able to listen to the Cat in the Hat while he was visiting rooms, mystery readers read aloud books, and students shared with me their campfire stories they wrote. Another very exciting visit to elementary classrooms was Doug Dahms, who made it to state for forensics—he shared his speaking piece with the elementary and did a fabulous job—all listened enthusiastically. Good luck at state Doug, we’re cheering for you!
Our first graders cleverly built leprechaun traps for St. Patty’s Day. They created pots of gold to lure them in, and decorated their traps so nicely, what leprechaun wouldn't want to check them out!? I was hoping they would have caught that leprechaun darting through our school, but had no luck. Maybe we'll have a little more luck of the Irish next year!
