Tips for Finals Week:
Take breaks.
You won’t be able to memorize or comprehend all the material at once! Balance is key - ensure that you reward learning with break times to recharge and relax.
There’s a lot to be said about a good night’s sleep and proper nutrition. Make sure you’re well-rested so that you can be fully focused during your exams, and make sure you are eating healthy meals and drinking plenty of water to keep your body and mind well-energized!
Splitting the material into chunks you can actually achieve can be very beneficial. That way, you can keep track of what you’ve accomplished instead of looking at the big picture and getting overwhelmed.
If you think about and create actual exam questions, you will likely become more familiar with what you need to study and, in the meantime, familiarize yourself with the type of language that will be on the exam. Draft potential exam questions and quiz yourself so that you can set expectations of what you need to focus on. Think flash cards! Use index cards to create your own flash-card game of sorts. Ask your family member to help you out!

A message from Ms. Iraheta
Tips of the Week:
Academics: It’s the final stretch of the semester! It is crucial to be time-efficient especially now, since avoiding burnout is super important to have a quality break.
College/Career: Be sure to create your Xello account and take your career assessment.
Social/Emotional: Try not to overwork yourself during the break! Always keep your mental health in mind.
Use Xello, it's amazing everyone! Take the assessments to find out your interests, skill sets, learning styles, etc. Xello will match you with careers based on your responses. It will also math those careers with all colleges/universities that offer your chosen majors in those fields. The data includes current workforce information such as salaries, demand/need for that industry of labor, etc.
Healthy Kids Survey:
Reminder to complete the California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS). The survey has been extended to Friday, December 18th. The survey link has been posted on Ms. Iraheta's Class of 2024 Google Classroom.
