Congratulations to our 2023 Maryland All-State Honor Chorus Selectees!!

Please join us in congratulating the following LMS Chorus students who were accepted into the 2023 Maryland All-State Junior Chorus! This year, we had FIVE students make the chorus, which is a very big deal. These students competed against several hundred students across the state of Maryland for a spot in this exclusive choral group. Congratulations to all of the students who tried out this year, we are SO beyond proud of the hard work they put in to prepare for such a difficult audition.

Did your child misplace a coat, hoodie, or lunchbox?

Please encourage your student to check the lost and found in the cafeteria this week. All unclaimed items will be picked up at the end of the day on Friday, December 16th and will be donated to a local charity.

Your Child's Laptop Charger

As a kind reminder please encourage your student to charge their laptops nightly. Also, take a few minutes with your student to locate their charger. If a student is missing a charger they should report it to Mrs. Haynes. There is a $40 charge to replace missing or lost chargers. Chargers are in high demand and with state testing around the corner all students must be able to maintain battery life.

Have You Ordered Your Yearbook?

Yearbook sales are now live! Yearbooks will ONLY be sold online and will be available for purchase until April 1, 2023. Please see the flyer below for details. Please contact Mrs. Engel with any questions at aaengel@smcps.org

December Family Edition

Do You Know How to Spot a Vaping Device?

Believe it or not, teenage vaping is a huge problem at the secondary level (middle and high schools). It is against SMCPS policy to possess, use, sell, or otherwise distribute any tobacco, tobacco products, and/or devices (e.g., cigarette lighters, e-cigarettes, vaporizers, and matches) on school property. This could result in ISI or even suspension.

Please take a look at the videos below for some surprising information on vapes/vaping. Thank you for your help on the home front to get a handle on this issue.
