Bananas and Volunteers Needed Please!
Sign Up here at link below & feel free to sign up for multiple volunteer spots if you have more time to give or have more than one child.
All students should have received their Jog-A-Thon materials, including pledge envelope and informational flyer. Extra envelopes and flyers are available in the office. Completed envelopes can be returned to your child's teacher or deposited into the BIG SHOE outside the school office. This years proceeds going toward playground equipment, repairs and maintenance.
The Jog-A-Thon will take place during the classroom regular PE time in the gym. See schedule below for each class day & time. Following the run, each student will receive a banana to replenish. That means we need lots of bananas AND volunteers to count laps.
Have your child bring a water bottle as well as wear comfortable clothing and shoes on their Jog-A-Thon scheduled day. Your support of this APA sponsored fundraiser is greatly appreciated. Please get involved, any financial amount, or time volunteering help make a difference at Adams!

Pe and wellness news
Students started class on the big circle doing partner exercises such as plank high fives, burpie high tens, and single leg squats. Then we did PACER practice to work on stamina and the right jog-a-thon pace: not too fast, not too slow. For soccer skills, student played individual "two touch" against the wall to practice passing and receiving. They used those soccer skills in a rousing game of "Soccer Noodle Tag" in which tagged and frozen students are unfrozen by a successful pass from a classmate. Next week is the Jog-a-thon.Thanks for your contributions of bananas for after their efforts. Please help your child wear appropriate footwear on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday....like they should for every PE day.
Yoga meets every Monday and Friday during break, it's an amazing time to exercise and get centered. AIM continues each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Almost 90 students have reached 10 miles. Ask your child about a fact from the No Soda November posters in the hallway. On Wednesday, students tasted a cabbage/carrot salad at the monthly tasting table. Here's something very similar from the OSU Food Hero site: https://www.foodhero.org/recipes/chinese-ramen-cabbage-salad
This week during Library time stories and poems read aloud illustrated the use of an app called Novel Effect. This app provides sound effects to accompany read alouds. It can be great fun for kids to practice reading aloud with these added elements, as well as for parents sharing books with their children.
OBOB Lunchtime listening clubs continue with Ramona the Pest for 3rd grade lunch on Tuesdays. Beginning Wednesday, Nov 20th we’ll hear the same story for 4th/5th grade lunch on Wednesdays (changed from previous weeks Clayton Byrd).
PLEASE REMIND YOUR STUDENT EACH WEEK TO MAKE SURE THEY GO TO THEIR ASSIGNED DAY AND ROOM LOCATION AT MORNING RECESS, EACH STUDENT SIGNED UP HAS BEEN NOTIFIED, PLEASE HAVE THEM CHECK THE BULLETIN BOARD BY THE LIBRARY FOR THE OBOB SCHEDULE. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for any questions about the team assignments
