Egg Harbor Township High School
Week of November 21, 2021
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Greetings,
The High School play is in its final week of rehearsal. Please come out to the High School from Dec. 2 to Dec. 5th to support our students as they perform the Broadway show, “Legally Blonde”. I can hardly wait to see their production. Just a reminder that masks must be worn at all times in the building,
Remember that Wednesday, November 23 is a half day for all students at the High School. Dismissal is at 12:12. Students must be present the entire time to gain credit for the day.
In academics this week, US History 2 teacher Mr. Kristeller had students portray characters from the roaring 20’s. Specifically dressed in 1920 attire, students had the opportunity to role play iconic figures in time and depict their stance on the cultural issues at hand.
Our Holocaust and Genocide classes had the opportunity to travel to Stockton University and participate in an interactive exhibit and listen to the story of a holocaust survivor.
AP Government and Politics Celebrated Native American Month They participated in several games and activities related to the culture.. See the pictures below.
I would like to take time to wish the faculty, students, and community a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving. This is a short week, but one with excitement as we give thanks for all that we have. I am grateful to the teachers, students and parents as we continue to push through this pandemic and make memories happen in school. .Let’s stay positive and maintain the course so that the rest of our year goes as smooth as these initial months have gone.
Until next week, have a wonderful holiday. Stay safe, be well, continue to dream of the possibilities ahead of us, be happy and smile at someone!
Ms. Connor
Feeling Thankful at EHTHS
Renaissance created a Thank You Tree Wall in the main hallway leading to the Commons Area. They asked students what they are thankful for and then made a leaf for every staff member to also put on the tree. It's cute. They even got the preschool and special education students to make a leaf.
Here are some pictures.

Student Assistance Program and Resources
The High School has adopted a new bullying-prevention program for this school year!
#DAY1--a staff and student-led philosophy that will serve to foster a building-wide atmosphere of kindness and inclusion.
This program was started a few years ago in Bergen County by the Tyler Clementi Foundation and has gained momentum throughout the state and country for use in schools, community groups, workplaces, and sports teams. We even have 3 of our own students who were selected by the foundation as leaders for this initiative!
The premise is simple: the adults in the building make a “declaration statement” about behavior that is expected, as well as behavior that is unacceptable, and we all pledge to conduct ourselves accordingly. This includes seeking help when we witness unacceptable behavior occurring.
This notion is called being an #Upstander.
Has your student taken their #Upstander Pledge yet?!?
Have them sign into their school account and click here! 😊
