Community Building: The Contest is BACK!
Hello All,
Ever since we did “The Contest” for my mind control secrets, there’s been interest in doing something similar, but this time including the students. It’s our hope that this will not just be a fun activity for them, but help build a positive school culture that pays dividends with less discipline and more learning throughout the year.
Thus, I have good news. I’ve got something special planned (you’ll know when it starts, trust me, but as a heads-up it will start this Friday Oct. 25th). Plus, it will not only include the students, but everyone on staff is going to be able to participate and have fun too.
What to expect:
This is going to be a themed game/contest/adventure that runs in the background of a week, with minimal distraction to our normal classes and routines. It’s just something fun to do in in the background that helps build our school community.
Participation will be voluntary for everyone, though I’m certainly hoping we have a good response. For some of you, you might choose not to join in on some days, and then join in on other days. That’s fine. You’ll also be privileged to some “behind the scenes” information so that you always know what is going on and can help guide the students.
Once we start, I’m going to send emails each morning to you explaining the day’s theme or activity so you will be prepared. Once we begin, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to ask.
Additionally, there will be a voluntary costume contest on the last day (which will be Oct. 31). Students are able to participate as well!
*Rules are simple: the costumes must be school appropriate, and they should be Mario World themed, or Literary Character themed.
Thanks everyone. I can’t wait to see what you all come up with, and if you play along, good luck!

October 31st Costume Contest
Calling all Marios, Luigis, and Storybook Characters! This year we’re going to allow a little fun and have a staff costume contest! On Thursday, October 31st, you’re all welcome to come to work in costumes (school appropriate, Mario themed or Story Book Themed please!), and we’ll have a prize for the best overall costume, as well as a prize for the best group costumes.
I can’t wait to see what you all come up with. Let’s have some fun and good luck everyone!Doerre Bake Off-Cupcake Edition October 25th

If you are having an event outside of normal school hours, please make sure that you are sending Ms. Davis the name/time/date of the event, as well as all of the locations in the building that you will need AC/lights. It’s vital to have all of our events scheduled in the system as soon as possible, so that there isn’t an internal conflict.
