I truly love this quote by Winston Churchill. For me it really puts things in perspective for me. My Thirty-One business has allowed me to give in more ways that I ever imagined. Below is a story I'd like to share with you that explains a mission my dear friend and I are on and how Thirty-One is helping us make a difference.

A Mother's Mission

Last July, a single, senseless, cowardly act of violence took the life of a beautiful, intelligent 19 year old college student with a bright future ahead of her. MacKenzie Madden was murdered at the hands of a boy she briefly dated. The murderer also killed Kenzie’s friend, John, before killing himself. By definition this is a case of domestic violence.
Many of you remember my friend Carrie Dennison from high school. I want to tell you she is the bravest woman I know. She is MacKenzie’s mom. Carrie and her husband Jim are living every parent’s worst nightmare. Yet, I continue to be amazed each day by their courage and faith.
Soon after Kenzie’s death Carrie and I started working together, looking for a way to make a positive difference out of this tragic, senseless, cowardly act of violence. Together we have been able to support programs in California and Utah that help women escape domestic violence. It is all done in memory of MacKenzie Madden.
I am reaching out to you because I want to invite you to take a stand against domestic violence and support our efforts by purchasing a $20 Keep it Tote by Thirty-One Gifts. In return, I will match that tote and two will be donated. When women arrive at a shelter, they often have nothing. A woman arriving at the shelters we are supporting, is given a Keep it Tote filled with personal necessity items and resources for the help she needs to get on her feet. Often, this bag is the only thing that’s hers.
Carrie and I are currently doing two tote drives. One benefits WEAVE of Sacramento, California and the other benefits CAPSA of Logan, Utah. Both organizations support women escaping a violent environment. If you would like to support this effort, please message me or comment below.
Together we can make a difference and give a woman hope for her future.

Thank you for letting me share.
