Mrs. K's Counseling Corner

Week of January 24, 2022

"Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education."

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

  • Our "Essential 36" manner of the week: “Celebrate the success of others.”

  • Ms. Carbajal’s 2nd grade class did an amazing job with our morning announcements last week. They introduced themselves, led us in the pledges, shared the lunch menu and ended with the joke of the day. Mrs. Hoesing’s 2nd grade class will assist this week.

  • If your child is going to participate in the REACH Council’s “Kids’ Connection” group, we will begin WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 26.

  • Last week, in 5th grade Peace classes, students completed a career/interest inventory. It was fascinating to hear the kids share which careers matched their interests. Some of the students were really surprised! Mrs. K. encouraged the kids to take home their career inventory and share it with their parent(s). This is an excellent article on how to support early career conversations. Check it out!

  • For fun family activities around the area, click on this week’s edition of Kids Out and About. You can also sign up for their weekly newsletter.

  • More family activities: CityFest, Burleson: This is a free opportunity for the public to engage with city officials and city departments. Learn what the city has accomplished in the past year and the city's plans for the upcoming year. There will be kids’ activities including bounce houses, face painting, games and more. For more information, click HERE.
