Weekly Updates from Big Walnut High School

Happy Friday! Even though the temperatures are still chilly, the sunshine is a welcome sight! Today was the end of the third quarter. Third term report cards will be available on PowerSchool on March 15.


As always, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teachers, school counselor or the administration if you have any questions or concerns. Feel free to contact the main office at 740-965-3766 between the hours of 7:00 and 3:15.

Scheduling for 2021-2022

Our counselors have nearly finished scheduling all students for the 2021-2022 school year! All students should be finished submitting their course requests by Friday, March 12. If you have any questions, please contact your school counselor.


Students and families will be able to review course requests in PowerSchool the week before Spring Break.

Seniors--Do you have your cap and gown?

It's hard to believe, but graduation will be here before we know it. If you haven't ordered your cap and gown, it's not too late...but time is running out. Please click here to see order information from Jostens. Contact them with questions!

Congratulations to Senior Grace Weber

Senior Grace Weber has been selected as one of twelve Zonta Club of Columbus Outstanding Young Women in Central Ohio for 2021. She was chosen on the basis of her scholastic achievements, leadership and commitment to service in her community and her school. She exemplifies the values that Zonta Club members worldwide promote and encourage. Congratulations Grace!

Summer CCP Courses?

Attention Parents of Students in the Class of 2022, 2023, & 2024:


The registration for Summer CCP courses through Columbus State Community College is now open. If your student is interested in taking any CCP courses this summer they should make an appointment with Mrs. Sturtevant right away as some courses fill up quickly.

Looking for a Summer Job???

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium/Zoombezi Bay is beginning to fill positions for summer employment. Employment with the Zoo enables students to work towards gaining the Ohio Means Jobs Readiness Seal for graduation, as just one of the many perks. To learn more about potential job opportunities with the Columbus Zoo, check out this link.

In January, students in German 2, German 3 Honors and in AP German took the National German Exam. Students were able to showcase their skills in reading and listening comprehension on a national and state level. Congratulations to the following students:
