Forsyth County Testing Update
Georgia Milestones End-of Grade, End-of-Course and GAA
All states throughout the country have been notified by the U.S. Department of Education that federally-required state assessments will be administered this school year. In Georgia, the Georgia Milestones End-of-Grade assessments for grades 3-8, Georgia Milestones End-of Course assessments for Algebra1, Biology, U.S. History, American Literature, and the Georgia Alternate Assessment will be administered in Forsyth County and across Georgia this spring.
Due to the combination of face-to-face and virtual learning in Forsyth County, planning for state testing this year is two-fold. Face-to-face students will be tested at school following the
system testing calendar. Georgia does not have a virtual option for the Georgia Milestones or GAA assessments, but virtual students may come to school to take the test if they choose. If you have a virtual student, you will receive more information from your child’s school about how they will provide this opportunity. When your school sends more detailed information, they will ask if you plan to have your child come to the building to take the assessments and if you would like to take advantage of bus transportation on testing days.
Thank you for your patience and understanding in this unprecedented time. If you have further questions, please contact me or reach out to any of your school administrators.
Thank you,
