BNS/BCS Library Presents
Shared Reading of "On the Pulse of Morning" by Maya Angelou
THE BNS/BCS POETRY PROJECT 2017
Video: "On the Pulse of Morning": a BNS/BCS community poetry reading project
In 1993, poet, activist, author, Maya Angelou, read her poem, “On the Pulse of Morning,” at the presidential inauguration of Bill Clinton. Calling us to see beyond our differences, and recognize our shared history and future, this poem celebrates our common humanity and urges all of us to have the courage and imagination to build together.
For our second BNS/BCS Library poetry project we chose “On the Pulse of Morning” in hopes of a future where all people, regardless of origin or particulars of birth, join together to create a world in which peace and unity prevail. We share our project as a celebration of the spirit and the work that we are engaged in each and every day at the Brooklyn New School and Brooklyn Collaborative.
We hope you watch and enjoy some of the many voices of our BNS/BCS community.
