TOOLS FOR STUDENT SUCCESS
● Attendance- good attendance is one of the most important factors in academic success. Teachers should conference with students that have attendance issues and call home if students have excessive absences.
● Organization - Students are encouraged to use an assignment notebook, fit homework into a routine, have a plan so schoolwork doesn’t suffer during a theater production or sport season.
● Good Study Habits- Picking a quiet place to study and studying at the same time every day, set goals for your studying/what you want to accomplish, reread notes taken in class and summarize them, study a few days before a test not the night before.
● Resources - Plan a schedule to take advantage of time to study before or after school, and be aware of tutoring resources.
● Advocate and Seek Help- Students should advocate for themselves and ask Teachers for help. Teachers should be the first to know if students have questions or need help. Talking to teachers about struggles/concerns is encouraged.
● Be Responsible - Both, parents and students should monitor grades and attendance using HAC. Staying current on student attendance and grades is beneficial in order to address issues that may arise and affect student success.
Everything is a matter of choice and attitude, so make it a great 2018-2019 School Year!
