About the Cadre

We are looking to fill our second year AT Cadre positions at your school. Your school has been specially selected to participate this year! AT Cadre members will attend 5 half-day professional development sessions. Topics will include:

  • Legal mandates for assistive technology
  • Assessment process
  • Bookshare as a resource
  • Assistive technology tools to be used with high incidence disabilities
Following these sessions, Cadre members will be coached to act as a resource for your building by training colleagues about high incidence assistive technology consideration.

We look forward to providing this complimentary training for your building. This is a position which receives a $500 stipend and cupcakes :-) Professional development sessions generally take place on grading or professional development days.

Freda Stanton, MS

Assistive Technology Consultant/Coach

Freda has been working in the field of special education for the past 32 years. She has been a direct service SLP, and Augmentative Communication Specialist, a teacher of the deaf and most recently taken on the role as an Assistive Technology Specialist. She is a strong advocate for students and believes that with the right tools all students can progress and grow.

Kim Baker, MS CCC-SLP

Assistive Technology Consultant/Coach

Kim has been working as a speech-language pathologist who has specialized in Augmentative Communication for the past 29 years. She has worked in education, adult rehabilitation, and private practice. For the past several years she has wholeheartedly taken on the role of Assistive Technology in the district. Her passion is to find solutions for every student and she believes very strongly in team process.
