Me:What yeaars were you in middle school?
Mom: I was in middle school from 1980 to 1982.
Me:What kinds of music, movies, and fashions were poular at the time?
Mom:The music that was popular at the time was hip-hop, the popular movie was Footloose, and the popular fashions were legwarmers and feathers in your hair.
Me: What were your favorite activities in middle school? What were your hobbies and interests?
Mom: My favorite activities in middle school was playing basketball and going bike riding. My hobbies were playing sports.
Me: What job/interests/activities do you have now? Is there a connection between what you like back then and enjoy today?
Mom: Today I work as the Planing and Zoning Secretary for the town of Barrington. I still enjoy bike riding at now like camping and scrap booking.
Me: What was the best part of being in middle school?
Mom: the best part was that I got to meet new people.
Me: What was the worst part?
Mom: the worst part was the 30 minute bus ride to school because the closest middle school to Pownell, Vermont was in the next town over.
Me: How would you describe your middle school self?
Mom: I was shy, athletic, and tall.
Me: What advice would you give to kids my age about growing up?
Mom: To always be yourself even if everybody else is different.
Me: What was your favorite subject in middle school?
Mom: My favorite subject was spanish
What was your least favorite subject?
Mom: My least favorite subject was Social Studies
