Clouds are thick masses of suspended water drops or ice crystals. There are different altitudes for clouds. Low clouds 0-2 Km, middle clouds 2-7 Km, and high 7 and up.
Cumulus Cloud (cotton ball)
Cumulus clouds are located at the middle on the clouds scale. They are fair weather clouds so if you were to have a picnic you cloud. They are puffy and cotton ball looking.
Stratus Cloud (sky blanket)
Stratus clouds are located on the low side of the cloud scale. They are clouds that bring mist and drizzle. They are gray and cover the entire sky.
Cirrus Cloud (Beard curls )
Cirrus clouds are at the top of the cloud scale. They are so high up they are made of ice crystals. They are curled, high and wispy.
Cumulonimbus
Cumulonimbus clouds are flat and anvil shaped. They can reach heights from 15-22 Km and they have strong wind.
Altocumulus
Alto cumulus clouds are mid level and fair weather clouds.
Cirrocumulus
Cirrocumulus clouds are high and fair weather clouds.
Nimbostratus
Nimbostratus clouds are dark wet looking cloud they bring pouring rain and snow.

Altostratus clouds are mid level stratus clouds.

Cirrostratus clouds are high level stratus clouds.
