Traffic
We would like to remind our school community that No Parking / Pick up and Drop off zones are to be used to pick up and Drop off students only. Stopping in this zone is for a maximum of 2 minutes and people must stay within 3 metres of their vehicle at all times. This means that parents cannot arrive early and wait in the No Parking area to pick up their child. Doing this has the potential to cause long traffic delays and safety issues for students.
We would also like to remind you that people cannot stop in a No Stopping zone AT ANY TIME, nor can they stop or pick up or drop off their child in a Bus Zone.
The safety of our students is paramount and we all need to be patient and adhere to the road rules and parking restrictions to help keep them safe and to also minimise the impact to traffic.
We have all done so well working as a community through these trying times. Let’s keep it going.
YEAR 7 WELLBEING
CAPA NEWS
Year 7 students are currently in the process of studying still life, as part of the 'Elemental Design' program. During critical and historical Studies, students have developed their skills in analysing and evaluating a work of art.
Blake E and Jada H's work showcases the descriptive writing skills that are a significant part of this task.
Why the composition appeals to me?
In this photo that I decided to draw titled · pears half hidden· really appealed to me when I was deciding which of these to draw. One of the main reasons that I chose this one is because they are all very close together which I like so you only need to look in the one spot when looking at it.
The colour is very different, the value is mostly bright, most of it is smooth and I really like the placement. Also there is not to many fruits of the same kind, there are pairs, lemons and apples all in this one picture which gives it a lot more life.

When l first looked at this piece the colour attracted me, I found it interesting how the artist had incorporated the feature of contrast so well but without letting the apples blend into the background of the piece due to the lounge chair showcasing similar blotches of pink and red. At first I really loved this artwork and I have to say l still do after looking at it again a couple more times.
ln the foreground of this piece l can see a mix of shades of reds. oranges yellows and greens that appear quite dull, this makes the piece look crowded and busy but also allows the viewer to focus on the main structure of the painting, the apples. In the foreground of this piece I can see a white cloth draped across what seems to be a lounge chair And in the midst of the piece l can see an assortment of vibrant apples that are mixture of warm tones, where a delicate tea pot and glass fruit bowl hoists up a variety of fruits. It exhibits warmer colours but a mix of greens in the background, to me this adds character and makes me feel as if it holds a sense of beauty, nostalgia and warmth but with the help of the muted blotches of colour in the background.
ln this piece I am reminded of the home of an elderly person because the furniture that can be spotted (both the lounge chair and the tea pot) remind me of antiques that you could find laying around in either a nursing home or the house of your great aunt. The pattern of flowers seem fitting to the theme of old heirlooms, vintage sets of china and dusty antiques. Overall I'd say this piece at first glance appears dull and tedious but upon closer inspection you can find the colours contrast each other. Because of this feature l personally love it although I do believe that when looking through an art museum this piece would not catch your eyes due to the lack of vibrancy I feel the artist has portrayed the use of texture and a 3 dimensional affect quite well nonetheless, by looking at this piece l can imagine how each fabric and surface might feel if l were to stick my hand through the painting.
I have not experienced a anything that is being showcased in this artwork but I have felt similar emotions that are evoked from this piece. it reminds me of the feeling of nostalgia that is represented in this piece and is sentimental due to how old fashioned and timely this artwork appears at first glance, it almost makes me feel as if this piece is familiar because of how the setting reminds me of my late grandmother who owned very similar furniture which is why there is a hint of sadness I feel when looking at this piece.
I believe the artist created this piece to exemplifY emotions of beauty and purposefully created a homey and sentimental feel as of how outdated this artwork appears, although this artwork was made during a time where these patterns and the feel of this setting would have been the norm, in later generations it reminds me of an older setting from earlier ages.
