KINDERGARTEN CURRICULUM
Religion- During religion this week, we will be learning about the Trinity. We will use St. Patrick's example of the shamrock to teach about God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, three in one.
Guidance- Dr. Pannell defined teamwork for the kindergartners in her lesson last week. The children practiced the concept of cooperation by making shapes with their bodies in a group.
Language Arts- The kindergartners are finished working on Letter "W" and will move onto Letters "K and Q" this week in class. For the letter "W", the SuperKids discussed traveling to make-believe planets that had names such as the "Hot Planet" and "Planet Wump".
KINDERGARTEN FAITH CORNER
This week's Sunday Gospel will address Holy Week, how Jesus spent his last days before his death and the Gospel will also cover his resurrection to a new life. Holy Week celebrates the new life of Jesus and building Christian community.
Pope Francis has proclaimed this the "Year of Mercy" and we can all live by Jesus' example of showing love and compassion to the downtrodden and oppressed.
Mercy Challenge- In keeping with the spirit of the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy, we encourage our parents to think about the following Works of Mercy during the upcoming week:
Corporal Works of Mercy:
- Feed the Hungry
Spiritual Works of Mercy:
- Instruct the ignorant (to share knowledge)
These are simple acts of Mercy each of us can strive for in our daily lives.
