First things first: Day 1, Today you'll get to finally understand your Jewish selves in the context of a collective Jewish past.

This is where our history was made, yo.

Up till this point, you've all been a Hebrew character without a Hebrew past. Abraham had the mission of creating something entirely new whereas, we have both the advantage and the challenge of carrying history with us and like every generation before us we are building the Jewish future.

Thursday January 1, 2015

What a great way to start the New Year! Get your Instagram ready! We'll get an interesting presentation about eco activities at Kramim, then hike the gorgeous Ein Ovdat, one of many portions of the Epic Israel National Trail that we'll traverse on this tour. After lunch, we'll have another hike of Sde Boker (another portion of the Israel National Trail) and get ready for a camel ride. At night we'll see a gazillion stars!

Friday January 2

An early morning sunrise hike at Masada will do everyone some good. The view of the Jordanian hills are incredible. We'll have breakfast and after a short drive, we'll find ourselves at the lowest point on earth - the Dead Sea. Before dinner we'll light candles and welcome the first Shabbat of the year.

Shabbat January 3

On Shabbat we will experience what it's like to rest in combination with getting that "spiritual thang" on... We'll discuss our new experiences and hear creative responses to Jewish sites and sources. The pace of our schedule will be less hectic than usual, it is Shabbat afterall... We'll get to splash around a bit and enjoy each other's company. By nightfall we'll have a night out on the town! Look out TLV, here we come!

Sunday January 4

To the North! Or as we say in Hebrew "HaZafon!" Today is an exciting day of sorts. After breakfast, we'll meet the soldiers who will join us for then ext few days. We'll travel to Caesarea, Keisarya, Qesarya (or however you spell it!). We'll go for a walk down the "Path of the Wine" in Zichron Yaacov and stay overnight at Kibbutz Gonen.

Monday January

Today we'll learn just how strategic our borders are. A short while later, we'll have a hike of Tel Dan. Later on in the day we'll get a chance to see the various industries of the Golan Heights and have a tour of the HaGolan winery!

Tuesday January 6

Another gorgeous day awaits... After a nice hike of Mt. Arbel, we'll get to explore the mystical city of Tzfat (Safed). Today is our last day in the North, better make the most of it!

Wednesday January 7

The Old City: It's a new day people ~ Rise and shine! It's time to explore both ancient and modern Jerusalem and its impact on Israeli society. As we journey through the old and the new, we will discuss the impact both have made on Israel and its people. We'll get to explore the coolest tunnels of the Western Wall - The Kotel.

Thursday January 8

Today will be a world of mixed emotions. We'll start by doing some good service to the community. We'll meet and greet a community our grandparents age at Yad Lakashish. Later we'll get to experience the ultimate price for being Jewish and have our eyes opened wide at the Yad Vashem Museum. Shortly after Mt. Herzl, we'll say farewell to the Soldiers. We'll need to let off some steam later. A night out in Jerusalem will do us some good.

Friday January 9

Today is all about the White City, the Start-up Nation a.k.a. the City That Never Stops. We'll see one of the first neighborhoods that burst outside of the walls around Jaffa. Next stop is a meeting with one of Israel's most renowned street artists, Rami Hameiri. We'll also get a peek inside of his beachside garden studio. At lunchtime, we'll brave the busyness of the market right before Shabbat begins.

Shabbat January 10

Our last day together. It's been quite a ride up till this point. After breakfast, we'll go on a walking tour of the kibbutz. We'll have one more havdallah program followed by a hearty farewell dinner.

In Israel, we never like to say good-bye. Instead we say, "Lehitraot," which means something like, "see ya, later." Right before our departure we'll take one last stop to visit the Western Wall - The Kotel.
