Stars and Wish
It has been refreshing to get into classrooms this week and see the level of engagement and focus shown by our students. Your preparation and organization are key parts to this success - thank you!
Stars:
- During guided reading lessons with Kindergarten students the precise instruction that takes place with the small group to use specific reading skills for decoding is fun to observe and see the success. Our little ones are taking off with their reading and writing!
- Book clubs in 4th grade were rigorous and relevant! Students had clear expectations of assigned work and visual to use to keep them on task and regulated learners!
- Math groups observed in 3rd and 4th grades were organized well for students to be working independently while the teacher worked with small groups. The small group assistance with some difficult concepts helps to build confidence and math success!
Wish:
- At this time of the year we are on the push to move kids to proficient and advanced areas for the end of year assessments. Are you checking data points to see who needs extra interventions and data to guide your small group or one on one time to meet specific needs of a student? Crunch time is here!
