A Couple of Items From Pastor Clayton
Hello LeadershipFirst Alumni! Thank you for the opportunity to share with you a couple of items I feel are important. All of you are established or emerging leaders and have real influence with others in this congregation. These things may seem simple or obvious, but I think the re-enforcement from this you all could make a huge impact in how 2017 goes - one that I see as one of the most important years in our history.
2) If not already received, all members who pledged to our Operating Ministries Budget in 2016 will soon receive a mailing with an invitation to make a pledge toward our 2017 operating ministry budget. With the new facilities coming online, 2017 is a critical year. It would be so helpful and encouraging if our LeadershipFirst Alum group can do the following: a) Pray about their own participation, b) Make a financial pledge toward 2017 operating budget, c) Be a positive voice for support among their church friends about the importance of everyone participating with a pledge of support.
Thank you all for your support!
In Christ,
Pastor Clayton

From Welcoming Ministries!
Welcome people for Christ! It leads our mission statement at FUMCR and helps guide us in all we do! With Opening Day quickly approaching, the Welcoming Ministries Team is calling upon the LF Alumni to help lead, because as we have seen over-and-over again, others WILL be empowered to follow you!
Please consider being part of the volunteer pool that greets guests and members on Sunday morning - at both the exterior doors and the new welcome areas.
We have taken intentional steps to fit your schedule!
- You will receive an e-mail with a sign-up link every month. You pick-and-choose what works best for your schedule (once a month, every week, a couple of times a year... whatever time you can give promises to make a difference!)
- Your children are invited and encouraged to serve alongside you!
- Most shifts are 20-30 minutes in length, so they will minimally disrupt (if at all) your worship or SS class commitments.
Please prayerfully consider serving in this upcoming season!
Your presence is needed and your welcoming spirit will be a blessing to guests and future volunteers!
Just send us a note that says "I'm in!" We will take care of the rest...
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Unique Volunteer Opportunity from Kevin Burns and the Story Teller's Project
The StoryTeller’s Project is in search of people that can help in two specific areas:
1. We need people that are interested in helping provide summaries of recorded interviews and/or transcriptions of recorded interviews. The interviews are available online and all work can be done from home. This is a time-consuming job, but is incredibly important. Specific directions will be given.
2. We are looking for people that are creative and computer savvy to help begin piecing together interview snippets into social media content. This piece of the project is still in the planning phase, but we would love to get some “creators” in on the ground floor to help dream what we are doing here. Volunteers need to be comfortable learning new software, and would be available to meet on campus on weekday evenings or on Sunday. We will try to keep the number of meetings to a minimum. Most volunteer work can be done from home with a computer.
If you are interested contact Kevin Burns at kburns@fumcr.com
Youth Ministries Needs You!
We need volunteers to drive youth to caroling at the Wellington on Sunday, December 18 from 5:30-6:30 pm. They must be an approved driver with the church to drive a church vehicle. If they would like to sign up, they should contact Pavielle – pjenkins@fumcr.com. She will confirm if they are approved to drive, and if not, she will send them the application details.
We are also looking for another 10th grade Sunday school teacher. Youth Sunday school teachers lead lessons in a team teaching set up alternating Sundays, so they teach about two Sundays a month. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with youth and who has the passion to teach bible lessons. We provide training and curriculum. If they would like to learn more or sign up, they may contact me – pjenkins@fumcr.com or 972-996-0132.
