‘GROWING GREATNESS GRANDEZA EN CRECIMIENTO'
Thursday, April 27: 4:30-6:30 Open House
BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS
We have seen an increase in negative behaviors, profanity, racial slurs and hate speech being used by students in the classrooms, hallways, and throughout the school. Not only does this behavior interfere with learning and teaching, it makes our school feel unsafe. At Baker Prairie we do not tolerate such behavior and will be disciplining students accordingly. Good discipline and behavior are prerequisite for a successful school. We need your support to reinforce what behavior is appropriate for school and for the positive development of our young people.
Please take the time to review the Student’s Rights & Responsibilities Handbook with your child to better understand our expectations at Baker Prairie. The Handbook is an official document that details the Canby School District’s expectations and guidelines necessary to maintaining a climate of respect and safety in our schools.
We appreciate your support!

BAKER PRAIRIE CARE TEAM
One of our goals as a district is to provide equitable education for all our students and to "eliminate barriers, giving students what they need to succeed." At Baker Prairie, one of the steps we have taken to realize this goal is to assemble our BPMS Care Team. This group of parents, guardians, family members, staff, and other community members works together to meet the needs of Baker Prairie students as they arise throughout the school year.
How does it work? Our student interventionist, Brett Curtis, periodically sends out requests to the Care Team for items such as snacks, clothing, bedding, and school supplies. Team members reply if they are able to provide a new or gently used item to meet this request. Last year over 50 students benefited from the Care Team's support and generosity. If you are interested in joining, please contact Brett Curtis at brett.curtis@canby.k12.or.us.
Curriculum Renewal Open House
As we prepare to adopt new K-12 Health and 9-12 World Languages curricula, we invite families to an open house. Come learn about our curriculum renewal process, view potential instructional resources, and have the opportunity to ask questions about health and world language instruction in Canby. For those who wish to learn more about Oregon health and/or world languages standards ahead of the event, click the links to preview. We will hold two identical open houses at Ackerman Library from 5:30-7 p.m. on April 26 and May 2. Drop in at any time.
MAY 8-12: STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK
Please take time to celebrate and show your appreciation to our wonderful staff who daily make a positive impact in the lives of your student(s)!
