SpongeBob Then to Now
(1993-1999) SpongeBob was officially supposed to be called "SpongeBoy" but never appeared in the Tv series as for the name was already taken by Bob Burden, the creator of his own TV show. SpongeBob first introduced it's TV series in 1999 after the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards. The first show was "Help Wanted/Reef Blower/Tea at the Treedome". More seasons were meant to come. The second season was reviewed as better writing and animation, which led to the creation of the third season. Now halfway through, the creators of SpongeBob decided to continue the seasons. To this day, SpongeBob is now not over. New episodes are being released and SpongeBob continues.
Johnny Depp lent his voice to the show as the surf guru, Jack Kahuna Laguna in the show "Spongebob vs. the Big One". Victoria Beckham also lent her voice as Queen Amphitrite.
SpongeBob appears 100 percent of the time in the show SpongeBob SquarePants. Patrick only appears 74.2 percent of the time, and Squidward appears 81.8 percent of the time. In 12 years, 38 new episodes were aired on television, a SpongeBob record.
