Winter Is Coming...
STRONG RECOMMENDATION - Students should have their coat and mittens washed at least every other weekend. With the young age of our students, it is very common for them wipe their nose on their gloves or coat. Consistent washing of these items will cut down on germs in the building. Now is a good time to clean out those backpacks too.
Cold Weather Policy
ALSO - Students are NOT allowed to stay inside more than one day without a note from the Dr stating they need to be inside. Students are outside for less than 15 minutes at a time. If a child is too sick to go outside for recess, they are too sick to be in school and should be kept home.

Medications At School
Prescription medications: Prescription medications must be accompanied by a Medication Administration Form with the doctor's signature included. These forms may be found on the District's web site (www.waylandunion.org) under the Parent Quick Links section. Medication will not be administered without this form on file. Also - if your child needs to take a medication thee times a day, we recommend before school, after school and before bed. Sending medication to and from school on a daily basis is NOT the best schedule, especially if the medicine needs to be refrigerated.
Over the Counter medications: Over the counter medications must be accompanied by the Medication Administration Form and signed by the parent. DO NOT send medication to school in a child's backpack. Any and all medication MUST be brought to the school office by a parent and we must have the original container (no plastic baggies)
Extra Clothes In Backpacks
Also - many of our students do have an extra change of clothes in their backpacks, however, they still have summer clothing from the start of school. Take a look this weekend and change out those shorts for long pants!
And as always - if you have any clothing that your child has outgrown, consider donating any pants and underwear to Baker Elementary. This is greatly appreciated. Size 5 - size 12. No shirts are needed at this time.
PREORDER YOUR COPY
The first 24 families to request the book will be sent a free copy to have for the December 9th workshop video. Email hoffmasters@waylandunion.org and a book will be sent home with your child the first week of December. Please email Sally your name, your child's name and your child's teacher's name. If you are from the VAAC and would like a book, we will leave one for you in the foyer to pick up. Our funds no longer permit us to mail the book to individual homes.
