In the LSE PTO know!

March 2021

Big picture

YOU put the "P" in PTO!

Getting involved in your child's education is an experience to remember! Whether it's volunteering at an event, helping at school during the day, or helping with things from home, your time and assistance are what puts the "P" in PTO! Our mission is to support and enrich the experience of our staff & students, but we operate solely on volunteers. Many hands make light work, and we happen to also have a lot of fun doing it! In this day and age of a multitude of commitments, we value any time you can offer in any way that you are able. Your kids will think it's pretty cool too! We hope that you will consider lending a hand to make the 2020-2021 school year amazing!

Sign-ups OPEN NOW for LSE'S VIRTUAL TALENT SHOW on March 19th!

Join us for a night of fun and entertainment as our very own Loganville-Springfield students take the virtual stage and show us their AMAZING talents!! If you can sing, dance, do a trick or something else amazing, come entertain us!

On Friday, March 19th, grab some popcorn and come to LSE PTO's Facebook page as a new act will be posted every few minutes! Comment on and like participant's posts to show them some LSE love. Keep watching the entire time... you never know WHO might share some talent throughout the show!!

All acts must be less than 2 minutes and you must sign-up your child in advance via the Sign-up Genius link below. Videos must be submitted via email (address below) by midnight on Tuesday, March 16th in order to give us time to prepare everything for Friday night.

Sign-up via Sign-Up Genius:

Email video by 3/16 @ midnight to: Melissa Myers,

We can't wait to cheer on our students and see the AMAZING talent that LSE has right under our own roof!

Set your alarms and turn them on "repeat", because each Sunday at 6pm, we will post a NEW video on our Facebook page ( and on our webpage (!

Staff at LSE will be reading a bedtime story... in DISGUISE! It could be ANYONE at LSE. Your kiddos can enjoy the story, and try to use their ears and the clues to figure out who is behind the mask! In this crazy year, we hope that you have been enjoying the videos thus far, and we hope that our students look forward these videos each Sunday! Happy sleuthing! 🐾💙🐾

Thank you all for sparing your change for PENNY WARS!

Penny Wars has ended! Typically we drag those containers full of all of your change across the street to the bank to be counted, but due to Covid restrictions ... those containers must take a little journey to another branch at a scheduled appointment this week! As soon as we know which grade-level has won our Penny Wars, we will announce it on our Facebook page as well as our website!

The winning grade-level will receive a special treat! Last year Kindergarten won by a landslide... who will it be this year?

As a reminder, every penny of the money raised by each grade will go into their district grade level account. When your child reaches graduation, all of the money in that grade level’s account that has been raised since Kindergarten, along with funds raised through Dollars for Scholar programs, will be used to help those students who wish to further their education.

THANK YOU so very much to all who participated!

It's almost TIME for LSE's BOOK FAIR!

It’s TIME to talk about the Scholastic Book Fair. With this crazy TIME in our lives, let’s order our kiddos some books! Books are a personal TIME machine. Our students can go anywhere at anyTIME with a book!

We are so excited to share that our Book Fair will be both online AND in-person, for parents only, during Parent-Teacher Conferences on March 31st, & April 1st. The in-person Book Fair will be held in the Large Group Instruction Room (we will have signs to guide you), and will have precautions in place to keep you safe while shopping. If you prefer to shop online, our online fair will be open from March 26-April 6th and those books will ship directly to your home. A percentage of all sales is returned to us in the form of Scholastic Dollars which we use to purchase items for the school/students throughout the school year.

We are also thrilled to say that each child WILL be receiving a free book again this spring, compliments of the PTO. We are currently working out details regarding this and we will be sure to share more information as it becomes available.

Our Book Fair can be shopped via this link when it opens on 3/26:

E-Wallets will be available again to shop in-person, in a contact-free manner (cash and credit cards will still be accepted, but e-wallet is preferred). Stay tuned for additional information to come as things are finalized!

Rite Aid has just released their new fundraising campaign, which allows you to support LSE simply by registering through the steps below and using your Wellness+ card when you pick-up prescriptions or shop the store (in person or online!). As programs such as Giant A+ Rewards and Box Tops are dwindling, this is an easy way to help support our school through the purchases that you already make!

Registering is easy, just follow these simple steps:

1. Register for RXfundraising
Register to support Loganville-Springfield Elementary School on the RXfundraising website here:

2. Register for wellness+ rewards
Register for a Rite Aid wellness+ rewards number if you don’t already have one.

3. Transfer your prescriptions*
Transfer your existing prescriptions to Rite Aid. Every time you fill a prescription and use your wellness+ rewards number, you're helping to support your favorite Cause.

4. Shop at Rite Aid using your wellness+ rewards
For each qualified prescription or in-store purchase at Rite Aid using your wellness+ rewards number, your nonprofit will receive funds from RXfundraising!

Many of you have already registered on the website and signed your child(ren) up for the Class Directory... thank you!

If you would like your child to be included, steps to set-up your account & directory information are located under the RED "Add My Student(s)" button below!

Please remember that for privacy issues, all members who join will remain in the "pending" file until we have verified that they are a parent of a student that is registered at LSE. If your file doesn't show up immediately, it's b/c it's in the "pending" file and we will approve it as soon as we've confirmed that you do belong to LSE :) The safety of our families is very important to us.

Additionally, the Directory is optional. Should you choose not to include your students' information, that is totally fine as well! We hope that those who chose to utilize this tool find it an easy way to connect with friends and LSE families!

Register account (school code QD5E47), click "Student Directory", "My Student", green "Add a Student" & enter your child's info (do this for each child) You must check the box "Show in Directory" in order for the student to appear!

Just a friendly reminder that many PTO activities and events require volunteers to have their clearances on file with the district. Information and instructions for completing these requirements can be found by going to the clearance tab located on the Dallastown Area School District home page, or by following the link below. Without parent volunteers, the PTO couldn't do all the great things we do for our school!

Clearance information can be found here:

Please join us on our Facebook page! We post lots of important information about events, special days at school, volunteer information and more! Click the link and PLEASE remember to answer the membership questions so that we can approve your request to join (this is a safety measure to ensure that the members on the page are LSE families only) (

We are working to build our PTO page on the LSE website! Click HERE to find more information as it's updated!

Also, a REMIND-er...

You can also join us on REMIND, a user-friendly app that allows messages to be sent to your mobile device! To join, please text the LSE PTO code: @e6ab4k to 81010 or download the Remind App to your phone and follow the prompts.

A note about our new newsletter format...

We have switched to an online-based newsletter format, which will allow you to easily access direct links to information and is more user-friendly. We hope that you find this streamlined format useful and easy to navigate.

In an effort to keep our content more relative, we are no longer including our Treasurer's Report. If you would like to view the Treasurer's Report for a specific month, please email and we will be happy to share that with you (pending approval at our bi-monthly PTO Meetings)
