Principals Message
Happy Marvelous Monday my Hope Family,
I hope you enjoyed your spring break. Our Staff is rejuvenated and energized and ready to start the week. I hope that you are as well. Just be mindful that we will resume our PARCC Testing. Make sure your scholars get enough rest each night. We will have our open house this Thursday April 27, 2023 from 4 pm to 6 pm as well as Saturday April 29, 2023 from 9am to 1pm.
I am glad to announce that we are welcoming a new member to our Hope family, Mr. Michael Johnson who will be our middle school ELA teacher. Mr. Johnson comes to us with a wealth of experience and is excited to be here just as we are excited about him joining us.

Dear Hope Tolson Family,
I am happy to report that all has been completed to clear me to start working in the school upon the return of students from spring break on April 24th. It was a lengthy and detailed process because the safety and security of students are non-negotiable. You can expect that care for the safety of the students at Hope will be secure in my hands as well. Many of the students got a chance to meet me already. Those students have all been bright and clever scholars. I’m thrilled to be able to say that I will be their teacher.
I’d like to end this quick note with a little about my background. I am an English Teacher who holds a state license here in DC. I also hold a Bachelor of Science degree in communication and have formerly worked as a Radio Producer and On-Air Announcer at radio stations across the country including WHUR, Majic 102.3, and WKYS here in DC. I have more recently worked as an English Teacher and as a long-term Math and Science substitute teacher before that. I look forward to filling that role here at Hope.
