Mask Requirements - Protocols Continue

Although the CDC has lifted the mask restriction for fully vaccinated adults, we at CSSE will continue requiring all adults and students to remain masked while in the building. Even if all adults are vaccinated, we would rather be safe than sorry when it comes to our kids! It’s only a few more days until school is out!

Student Placement Input Form

At CSSE, our goal is to create balanced and successful communities of learners. Our classroom teachers and administration carefully work as a team to prepare class lists for the next school year. A well-balanced class allows the students and teachers to perform at their best. While most students can be successful in any classroom, parents wishing to provide additional input regarding their child may fill out the linked form and return it to the office by May 25, 2021 or email to with subject “Placement Input.” The form is required if you want to discuss placement. Please note that specific teacher requests are not accepted.

FACTs Billing for Lost Books

All loans are due back to the school library. Mrs. Hattaway will be starting inventory, and needs to account for all books. If you have fines or lost books, please go ahead and send cash or check (made out to CSSE) to the school in an envelope with your child’s name and “library” BY MONDAY. Replacement cost for lost or damaged books will be billed through FACTS after Monday the 17th. Outstanding fines/fees will result in a report card hold. If you need to know how much your child owes for a lost book, please email

Light of Leadership Mass

Kindergarten through 8th will attend mass together on May 27th. This is the Light of Leadership mass, where our 8th grade students pass on the “Light of Leadership” to next year’s 8th graders. Light of Leadership mass is closed to visitors except 7th/8th parents only (2 parent limit per 7th/8th student).

Last Day Early Dismissal

Mark your calendars! The last day of school is Thursday, May 27th. We will dismiss all students at 12:30pm!

Are You Called to Help Students Grow in Their Faith?

Dear Community of St. Eugene,

Are you at the point where you're wondering "what next?" Are you searching for a meaningful way to get involved in the school community and work with young students in growing their relationship with God?

St. Eugene is already teaching Catechesis of the Good Shepherd in the Atrium for some of the early grade levels. We are hoping to expand the program to include more students. We need more trained catechists. We need you!

There is adult formation training for this beautiful program this summer. It will be held at St. Monica's Catholic Church in Edmond June 16-19 and 23-26, 9:00-4:30 This is training for Level 1, part 2. You are allowed to participate in this training even if you have not taken Level 1, part 1 yet.

St. Eugene has some funds to pay for this training.

Check the link to the brochure so you can learn more about the program. If you'd like to register please use the link below. Let me know if you have any questions the brochure doesn't answer.

Thank you,

Christie Ardoin

PTO Changes We will not be holding an annual meeting this year with Mrs. Goldsworthy’s recommendation. Some roles will be open due to members opting to step down, and roles for classroom/house parents will also be available to fill in the fall. Please see this letter from PTO president, Reem O’Donnell.

COVID-19 Response and Procedures

  • My Child is Ill. What Do I Do? Allergies or COVID? Stomach bug or COVID? It can be hard to decipher what ailment might be affecting your child. We have created some graphics and flowcharts to help you navigate what steps to take when your child or someone in your household is feeling unwell. Please report concerns or questions about illness to Mrs. Goldsworthy at, and she will consult with our response team - Mrs. O'Connell and Mrs. Rischard. ALWAYS fill out and submit the Absentee Form (or call Ms. Patrick in the office), then notify your child’s homeroom/house teacher each day of absence.

  • Absences Please use the Absentee Form to report absences AND email your child’s teacher/house homeroom. It is important to communicate why your child is missing school with the teacher and document through the Google form. Please be meticulous in following directions if a child, household member, or close contact has recently tested positive for COVID or is awaiting results of a COVID test. NO ONE IN THE HOUSEHOLD MAY ENTER THE SCHOOL BUILDING if COVID exposure is positive OR in question. Mrs. Goldsworthy MUST clear your household for return to school in all cases where the possibility of COVID is involved. Please send illness updates to Mrs. Goldsworthy.

  • Screening Questions and Carpool Please remember to have your questions answered DAILY and results ready to show on your phone. Students should be masked, on the passenger side for temp checks, and ready to go as soon as carpool teacher opens the door.

  • Spirit Tee Tuesday is EVERY Tuesday! - Students may wear their regular uniform or a St. Eugene spirit tee with jeans or uniform bottoms. Don't forget ALL students dismiss at 2pm EVERY Tuesday!
