Cool Cat News
Campus Brief
Cool Cats,
Congratulations to Mrs. Rita Ferris and our 4th grade writers! You did it! We applaud you for the consistent hard work and quality instruction that you provided for our students! If their performance is reflective of their recent district assessments, our students are set o do well! Angela, thank you for working superbly with Rita and all of our special area teachers to prepare a smooth, successful testing day!
First Grade, it was pretty impressive to see your super editors this week! Your students' ability to identify a complete thought will give them a solid foundation in their writing!
Kindergarten, Joei loved visiting your classrooms this week! It was good to see your small groups in progress and your students involved in qualitative literacy activities and independent reading! She enjoyed reading with your students.
Pre-K there were so many great things happening on the 400s: Students were exploring seeds, and root systems and plant nutrients, and the life cycle of the butterfly, and fossils and dinosaurs!
Kindergarten Round Up was a great success! The last number I heard was 45! As of the most recent information Hartman will welcome at least 45 new kindergarteners in the fall! That's wonderful news.
Good news! Last week I informed you that we had hired for our 4th grade position, and we are welcoming Kathryn Klaklamp. Kathryn will be completing her student teaching at Cox this month! She will be a brand new "teacher baby" in the fall. We are so excited for her! This week we hired for the 3rd grade position, and we invited Dawn Williams to join our Cool Cat team! Dawn will be new to public schools, but she comes with over 20 years of experience in Shelton School. She brings lots of experience working with students who have learning disabilities. We are happy to welcome these two phenomenal educators to our campus!
As we begin moving closer to the end of the year, it's that time to start planning for some farewells for staff that have decided they will be leaving us. Ms. Trammell and Ms. Perrin will both be ending their time as active Hartman Cool Cats! Although they will always be Cool Cats, they will be leaving us to pursue retirement and new adventures! We are so happy and proud of both of them!
We have 4 interviews for our vacant PPCD position next week! We hope to share news about results soon. We hope to fill para vacancies in the next couple of weeks also.
We have 13 ARDS next week. Most of them will be on Thursday. If we are unavailable it may be due to representation in these meetings.
Don't forget! Our Easter holiday is April 19th and 22nd!
Hope you are enjoying your weekend!
