Week of January 25th
This Week in Math...
It's always difficult to rearrange plans after so many unexpected days off. We often have to be creative in finding ways to regain instructional time. Since 5.6 Fraction Computation will be assessed on the benchmark, a student scoring 80% or higher will be exempted from the 5.6 test. Students scoring below an 80% will receive remediation and will take their test on Friday, February 5th.
Our Class in Pictures
Roll 5 is one of our monthly center activities. Students work toward a target number by adding, subtracting, multiplying or dividing the digits on the five dice.
The more numbers used, the more points scored. This encourages students to find more than one way to achieve the target number.
This activity is perfect for practicing fact fluency and order of operations. It can even be extended to include negative numbers for kids who need a challenge!
