We had a great week at Bush! Third and fourth grade students completed their STAAR Reading exams and next week they will take the Math STAAR. I am so proud of their hard work! The campus will be closed on May 2nd and 3rd.

We will be doing STAAR testing in third and fourth grades over the next two weeks. Please make sure that your student gets a good night's sleep and has a good breakfast before testing. It is also important for students to be in attendance and on time for school these days. Students who miss the STAAR test will make it up on the first day that they return to school. We will also have a closed campus for the 4 testing days which means no volunteers or visitors. Included below are the dates and schedules for testing days.

Here are some suggestions regarding how your student can make this a special week for our amazing teachers and staff!

• Teachers & Staff at Bush are the best of the best! One way to show your appreciation is to send them a "Teachers Achieving Excellence" Award. While the title says "teacher", any staff member can receive an award. Your child has many adults throughout the school day supporting him/her.
• Write a note or create a card for your teacher or a staff member.
• Is your teacher running low on any classroom supplies? This would be a great time to bring these items in! (sticky notes, white board markers, pens, books for classroom libraries, other classroom supplies, etc.)
• Bring in your teacher's favorite treat or something else from their Favorites List.

If you currently have plans to move over the summer please contact our registrar, Stacey Randall - (srandall@conroeisd.net or 936-709-1610). There will be a Summer Mover Form sent to you via your child. We ask that you complete it and send it back to school. If some of the information is not known, we can update via email as needed. This will help in planning for the next year. If you are a fourth-grade parent, and your child will not be attending Mitchell Intermediate, I will let Mitchell know of the possible summer move.

Kindergarten registration is now open for the 2023-2024 school year! Please select the link below to begin the registration process. Children who are 5 years old on or before September 1, 2022, are eligible to register for Kindergarten. For online registration help, please email infosnap-reply@conroeisd.net

Transportation changes must be made in writing before 2:00 PM. We cannot accept transportation changes by phone. To submit a transportation change, you may send a written note to the front office with the following information:

• the date
• your child's full name
• homeroom teacher
• bus number (if applicable)
• your signature

If an emergency arises, you may send an email to bush@conroeisd.net. The e-mail must include all of the above information and must be received before 2:00 PM. If you submit a transportation change by email, it must go to the email address referenced above. Teachers do not check their email regularly throughout the day, so transportation changes should not be emailed directly to the teacher. Please send a new note for each day the change occurs; we cannot accept notes for multiple days or with multiple changes. District policy states that a student may only ride the bus they are registered to ride; students may not have a transportation change to ride a different bus.
