Message from the Principal
Hello parents,
Winter certainly seems to have arrived in Woodbury; if you haven't noticed, it is cold outside!
While the temperatures might be plummeting, the warmth and work going on in the building continues to rise. Numerous clubs have been conducting charitable work both over Thanksgiving and as we head into the holiday season. Classrooms are being filled with collections of stuffed animals for young children and clothing for the Woodbury Community Closet. Students are continuing to show what it means to keep love present.
Parent conferences for both the Junior High and High School went well. It was great to see so many of our families connecting with teachers and cementing that home-school bond. If you were unable to make it into school during conference time for some reason, please reach out to your children's teachers to set up a phone conference next week. In this way, you can be kept up-to-date on your child's strengths and knowledgeable of any area where they need to put more focus.
Last year I began a process where I would meet monthly with randomly chosen students over breakfast to pick their brain and get a better sense of how they are enjoying their school experience. This month students were chosen in a semi-random way as I focused the meetings on students who are new to Woodbury this year. The conversations were quite beneficial. Seeing our programs and practices with fresh eyes is always helpful in crafting the very best structures and supports for our students. Thank you to all the students who participated!
The winter sports season has gotten under way. The swim team pulled out its first win; congrats! Also, the boys and girls basketball teams each had two scrimmages this week as they fine tune their approach for the upcoming games.
Finally, today is the last day to nominate someone for the Governor's Educator of the Year Award. If you have not already done so, please fill out the form below and email to me at jvivadelli@woodburysch.com.
That is all for now; have a great weekend!
Keep Love Present,
Dr. Vivadelli

Robby Richardson Wins Coach of the Year
Two years ago Robby Richardson took over the Woodbury boys soccer program after it won just five games. In his first year, he increased the win total to seven games and this season helped the program finish over .500 for the first time in eight years with a 11-7-1 record.
It went 7-3 against Colonial Conference, Patriot Division opponents and held its own in a 3-2 regular season loss to eventual Group 1 champion Glassboro. In the South Jersey, Group 1 Tournament, Woodbury defeated Wildwood, 2-1, before bowing out to Haddon Township, 2-1, in the quarterfinals.
Sincere Kato led Woodbury with 14 goals, while Rony Milian-Lopez had 11 assists. Omar Brown found the back of the net eight times, while Demaris Murphy scored six times. Stephan Boyle led the team with nine assists, while Gabe Selby was lights out in goal.
Congratulations to Mr. Richardson; we are all super proud!
Alumna Samantha Becker (Class of 2014)
Samantha Becker (class of 2014) was featured in an article in The Setonian, Seton Hall University's newspaper. She interned at Christie's auction house and is a Museum Studies major. It is great to see our graduates living out their dreams!

Woodbury Community Closet
The mission of the Woodbury Community Closet is to provide students with resources they may not have available otherwise.
The closet will be full of non-perishable food items, toiletries, and clothing that will be donated by faculty, students, and people from the community. Please give donations to Mrs. Dougherty or Ms. Comer.
Students will be able to order items of need through an online google site. Inventory will be taken by student council members and uploaded to the site weekly so the students have an accurate list to choose from.
Orders will be filled by Mrs. Dougherty or Ms. Comer and delivered confidentially to the student(s) in need. Please consider helping this worthwhile cause.
