Superhero Writing ~ Kindergarten

Kindergartners have been working on their writing skills helping them in their independent writing. They have learned that a sentence tells a thought, begins with a capital letter and ends with a period. This week, all kindergarten classes celebrated their work by sharing a class book about Superheros which they collectively wrote and illustrated. We are "super" proud of our youngest students and how well they are putting their learning into practice.

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (update)

Thank you for your participation in helping Blanton students become more aware of childhood cancers. Sadie and Logan have presented to students their experiences. Poster contests were finished today and we will announce those winners next week. Sadie did a great job sharing her story and answering questions as she spoke to 3rd-5th grade students and staff today. Stay tuned for information about Sadie's Sleigh coming closer to the holidays.

Student Spotlight ~ Custom Scarf Designs

We want to spotlight three of our students this week. Elizabeth May’s, Grayson Johnston’s, and Rhiannon Bauguss’s entries have been selected as finalists in the Elephant Auto Insurance & FC Dallas Art Contest! Their pictures have been uploaded to a Facebook album and we are asking that family, friends, and anyone you share with vote for the grand prize winner by "liking" their favorite submission. The voting began on Sept. 27 and will last about a week. The grand prize winner will be determined by the art piece that has the highest number of likes. The winner will receive a FC Soccer player appearance at their school and a $1.500 donation to their school's art program! Their designs are below, so please go the following link and vote often!!

Knights Night

Each year, our fabulous PTA schedules unique opportunities for our families. The first one for this school year will be at the Cycle Bar in Flower Mound. The instructors have generously offered to not charge their fee, so 100% of the proceeds go back to our Blanton PTA. We hope you are able to take advantage of this fun evening. Thank you, PTA, for the opportunity.
