Wolves Weekly Message
April 9th, 2021
Dear Wakefield Middle School Families,
We hope you enjoyed a restful Spring Break and are excited to return to school for the final quarter of the year. It was energizing to have our Cohort 2 students return to in-person learning this week. We are even more excited for all of our Plan A students to return to daily in-person learning starting Monday!
Please make sure that you read all of the information below as there is important information for ALL students, Plan A and Virtual Academy.
Grade Level Weekly Messages
- 4/12 - Plan A students return
- 4/12 - B-Day after Homeroom class
- 4/13 - Report Card Distribution
- 4/14 - Asynchronous Remote Learning Day (small groups)
- 4/14 - 4th Quarter Material Distribution for Virtual Academy students
- 4/15 - Final Virtual Family Engagement Night
ALL students will report to their HOMEROOM class on Monday, 4/12. This is both vor Virtual and In-Person students. The Homeroom Teachers will spend 15 minutes reviewing the students' schedules and responding to questions about any potential changes. Please review the Bell Schedule for both Monday.
4th Quarter Schedule Changes
Due to the number of students who have elected to move either to Plan A or to the Virtual Academy, there needed to be a number of changes made to students’ schedules. Students may have different teachers or a different order of classes. Although we worked to limit the number of major disruptions to students’ schedules, some changes were unavoidable. It is important that all students review their schedules in Powerschool this Friday afternoon.
PLEASE also ask students to check their email as their homeroom teachers will send them each an email to greet them and remind them about attending homeroom on Monday.
Plan A Procedures
Please be sure to review the updated procedures with your students prior to their returning to the school building by visiting our Return to Campus Guide. Please remember that social distancing is expected whenever feasible. We will work to create and allow for as much distance as is possible in classrooms and we will utilize class change, lunch, and bathroom/handwashing procedures that maintain appropriate distance. Face coverings remain mandatory at all times except for when eating and drinking or during a scheduled mask break.
School Bus Transportation - Action Needed
Eligible bus riders currently in Virtual Academy returning to in-person learning must apply for bus service. The student must meet all transportation eligibility requirements.
Students must also submit the daily attestation form. Bus assignments will not be provided until the attestation form is received.
Requests made for transportation will be closed after three days if the attestation form is not received, and the parent will be notified. Students will be assigned to a bus as quickly as possible after the attestation form is received.
4th Quarter Material Distribution
- Students attending daily in-person instruction on Plan A will receive their materials from their Math and ELA teachers.
- Virtual Academy students should come through the carpool loop on APRIL 14th from 8:00 - 11:00am or 1:00 - 4:00pm to pick up 4th Quarter materials.
