A Note From Mrs. Garrison
Election Day is Tuesday, November 5th! Powell is not a polling location on this day as we have been in many of the recent elections. Access the link below to find out where you vote. Make your voice heard! http://www.conroeisd.net/bond/
We would like your opinion on the 2020-2021 CISD Calendar. Please take a few minutes to fill out the survey link below. Our teachers have very strong opinions on this and I'm sure you do too! #welovethanksgiving
Have a great weekend!

- High schools currently have 435 minutes a day.
- Elementary, intermediate, and junior high schools have a 430 minute day.
- Early Release counts for 420 minutes of instruction, and no waiver is needed if meeting the minimum 240 minutes of instruction.

- For the 19-20 school year, the approved waiver for staff development days is for November 11 and January 7.
- Conroe ISD has an approved District of Innovation application which allows the District to start school before the fourth Monday in August (8/24/20).
Nominations for Gifted and Talented Testing
Nominations are now open for Conroe ISD Gifted and Talented program. Although the testing will not take place until the end of January, nominations are accepted from October 1- December 19th. Nominations can be made by the parents and/or teachers. It is recommended that parents of 2nd grade students wait until CogAT scores have arrived before nominating their child because CogAT scores are part of the GT assessment. If you are interested in nominating your child, you may want to discuss this with your child’s teacher at conferences. Nominations will be accepted no later than December 19, 2019. Please see the attachment for the nomination form and submit it to our GT coordinator, Sarah Radford at sradford@conroeisd.net. Paper forms can also be turned into the front office.
