Petroleum is classified as a fossil fuel. It is formed when sea plants and animals die, the remains become buried under several thousand feet of silt or mud. Takes millions of years to form petroleum. Petroleum is natural when first collected, and can be clear, green and black. And is either thin like gasoline or thick like tar.

Petroleum products include, fuel oils for heating and electricity generation. Petroleum can also be as asphalt and road oil. It can also be formed as feedstocks used to make chemicals, plastics, and synthetic materials in almost everything we use.
