Sun Celebration

We had so much fun sharing the Trollwood experience with the community at Sun Celebration on Wednesday, June 29! The students showed off all of this summer's accomplishments as they performed and gave demonstrations of everything they have learned this summer. It was amazing to see our grounds packed with guests supporting these amazing, talented young artists. They deserve every bit of support and appreciation!

Sun Celebration provided a wonderful atmosphere full of food, fun activities, and performances. We could feel the incredible support this community gives to the arts. It was so great to see this event return for the first time since 2019.Thank you for making Sun Celebration such a success; it wouldn't be anything without the talented students and the wonderful folks who support them!

- SENIOR SPOTLIGHT -

Each week, Trollwood Performing Arts School will celebrate its senior students through feature articles. You will get to know each each of our seniors and what their plans are for life after high school. Seniors were also recognized in a ceremony during Sun Celebration on Wedneday, June 29. Please join us in congratulating them and wishing them luck in their future endeavors!

Senior Spotlight - Sophia Welsand

Sophia Welsand, a Shanley High School graduate, has been involved in Trollwood for 10 years. She was in the cast of the Mainstage Musicals Disney’s Freaky Friday in 2019, Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella in 2021, and has been cast in the upcoming Singin’ in the Rain for 2023. Click here to learn more about Sophia!

Senior Recognition

A collection of Trollwood's seniors were recognized and honored on stage during the Finale of Sun Celebration. Each senior walked on stage as their bio was read and was given a certificate of achievement by Trollwood Executive Director Kathy Anderson. All of Trollwood's seniors will receive a certificate even if they were not in attendance for Senior Recognition. Thank you to all of our seniors for your years of dedication to Trollwood!

Movies Within the Musical

With a musical set in Hollywood, naturally there has to be some filmmaking glitz and glam. The show features movies within the musical. The Singin' in the Rain team, led by director Michael Walling, will be filming these movies this summer! Check back here for weekly previews of the casts of the movies within the musical. This week we're featuring Catherine Bailey as Yvonne in the movie The Royal Rascal in the 2023 production of Singin' in the Rain.

'The Show Must Go On'

In the words of Singin' in the Rain's Cosmo Brown, "The show must go on! Come rain, come shine, come snow, come sleet! The show must go on!" Even though the Mainstage Musical is postponed a year, the Singin' in the Rain crew is still hard at work preparing for Summer 2023!

Trollwood Performing Arts School offers rewarding volunteer opportunities working with positive and fun people to benefit a great cause! There’s a place for everyone at Trollwood! You can volunteer in any area that interests you and no experience is required. We’d love for YOU to join the Trollwood volunteer force. Without our dedicated volunteers, Trollwood would not be able to have such a positive impact on the youth of our region.

We are seeking volunteers to help with costume alterations and ushers for Totally Trollwood Musical, Trollwood Children's Theatre, and Trollwood Players in July and early August.

You may sign up for volunteer opportunities by emailing Programming Assistant Macy Scharmer at scharmm@fargo.k12.nd.us or Program Coordinator Nancy Glaser at glasern@fargo.k12.nd.us.
